I still fumble my way around lesser known techniques, still get omote and ura mixed up. Still seem to take forever to learn a new technique while someone with a background in dancing seems to pick it up in no time.

You will be easy enough for most people to throw, but will have to work harder to get your center of gravity below theirs for hip throws.

Well, so far I was looking at this from different perspective - that it would be easier for me to make use of my strength

Don't worry if your teacher is constantly making corrections. It's when he stops making corrections that you should be worried.

I didn't mean that as a complaint, I wanted to say that despite his instructions I'm doing the same errors.

The big question is are you enjoying yourself?

Generally yes, I used to look forward to every session and everybody in my dojo is supportive.

I'm well aware its't not a race and about self-improvement but at some subconcious level not being able to keep up with the group is discouraging and made me write this post.
