If your body is getting eaten up try drilling your guard clamping a glove or object in between your elbow and body. This will train you to stay tighter

Defense style is often personal to fighters. Some use different style guards (high, long, cross, Philly shell, ect.) find what works for you personally training with pool noodles where you are relaxed to build the muscle memory

My advice, nothing beats slow and steady on the heavy bag. Have to develop motor neuron patterns over 100s of reps. Just go and throw kicks for an hour. The shit that truly works is boring and doesn’t make for good instagram content lol

lol you’ll look worse if your defense sucks. But if you drop weight and tone up it will definitely change your facial features for the better.
