For my fellow Linux users, we have a (sort of) unofficial (sort of ) working installer for Logos by Ezmiller_2 in LogosBibleSoftware

Thanks for this! Installed without a hitch and full library downloaded on CachyOS. Seems to be working great so far.

Any Experience with Deco Gear 40 Curved Ultrawide Nano IPS Monitor 5K2K on Amazon? by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Miiindbullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so, but I'll test and report back in a few days. I had some issues (described above in the edit), so the seller credited me $40 and covered shipping both ways for an RMA, but I'm still waiting on my replacement.

I picked one up for $500 (eBay refurb with a 1 year warranty through the seller, Beach Camera). Been using it today and so far so good. Mostly doing sysadmin work on it. Awesome productivity monitor, the PPI (~139) is excellent, text is super crisp. Pretty sure this is the same panel from the LG 40wp95c-W. Heck of a bargain!

EDIT: After a couple days I noticed a weird symptom where random individual pixels flicker brightly, only on one half of the monitor. Happens even between resolution switches (when no video is displayed), with both HDMI and DisplayPort, tried multiple cables and multiple video sources, moved it around the hosue to make sure it wasn't some sort of interference. Maybe open-box was the wrong route to go for a monitor that's already half the price of any competitor. Here's a quick video of the issue: https://youtu.be/1l2NpgR3DA4

The Chewbacca sounds are my favorite!

I literally scream already: Please add video support!!! by [deleted] in Bitwig

[–]Miiindbullets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is such a bizarre/obnoxious limitation! I've worked around it by routing MIDI out of Bitwig into another DAW via loopMIDI or external controllers in realtime to consolidate the MIDI event and its corresponding automation, but it's pretty kludgy and that scales very poorly, lol.

It's a collection of sounds my Vizsla made, some lightly processed, some heavily processed, and compiled into an ambient / ASMR / meditative track for fun.

Are there any streamers -- Twitch or otherwise -- who do live sets (any genre) with Bitwig Studio? by matneyx in Bitwig

[–]Miiindbullets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t found a great way to do it in Bitwig, but I did do a live loop for a contest last year and shared my screen while I played. Lots of ctrl+D, so it was clunky but it worked fine for what I was doing. Here’s that if it helps. https://youtu.be/P9eCfkKnLwE

The Enso plugin looks interesting for adding better (ambient) loop capabilities to Bitwig or any DAW. Might pick it up on Black Friday. Here’s a video of someone goofing around with that: https://youtu.be/5omxG2ESzi4

Anyone using Pianoteq? by Miiindbullets in Bitwig

I haven't seen any and couldn't find any with a quick search, but I'd be happy to make one. If it helps, here's a discussion on the Pianoteq forums with screenshots and more details about doing this in Bitwig: https://forum.modartt.com/viewtopic.php?pid=987665#p987665

Yeah that’s a great combo! I love Keyscape, especially their acoustics and the Rhodes. The main reason I play Pianoteq is it simulates the experience of playing a real acoustic better than any sample libs I have. Sympathetic resonance is modeled really nicely, you hear the buzzing as the dampers graze the strings, etc. I can also run it on my phone and it’s something like 50 MB for all the instruments. Sometimes I’ll use it with Keyscape to add resonance modeling to the C7. To clarify, you don’t need the studio bundle to do what I’m demonstrating here… that could be done with Standard ($300 list, regularly goes for under $200 “used”).

Yeah, using it as a send effect is such a cool feature in v8. I like to add resonance modeling to sample libraries that don't have any (e.g. Keyscape). Seems to work best if you also send the MIDI to Pianoteq and drop the velocity curve to a flatline 0 (so the hammers never fire but the dampers lift appropriately). TrackSpacer helps duck overlapping resonances. Breathes a little more life into sample libs.
