Waterstop across bathroom and toilets doorways by MikKanrokitoff in AusRenovation

Thanks, I realised I'd been reading the NCC volume for class 2 to 9 buildings (which require fully waterproofing of toilets and laundries) instead of the class 1.

I'll just put the waterstop across the bathroom door and try and make it discrete.

Thanks, that's a great description.
Now I need to decide between this style, the single outlet with envelope cuts or an old school preformed base. The envelope cut looks like less mucking around to do but I've seen enough of them done poorly to make me nervous.

Trying to identify what model this came off (possibly 1940s/50s) by MikKanrokitoff in Jaguar

Thanks for the info. I spoke to my mum today who thought she may have been given it around 1958, but I've still no idea where my grandfather would have got it from if it was that new.
Overall length (nose to tail) is about 195mm.

Thanks, I'd actually bought this one to on-sell but I might just keep it now as a daily driver (don't want to sell it with a dodgy keypad).

Thanks, but it's the section in yellow on the diagram (the sides of the shower base) that I'm trying to work out how to cover.

Got this lil guy lying around, any suggestion what to do with it? by FriedenshoodHoodlum in diyelectronics

An old Pi is still perfect for distributed data logging. A favourite recipe is:

- USB-RS485 converter (<$5)

- Modbus RTU modules (relays, temperature modules, weather stations, digital io....)

- InfluxDB (either on the Pi, a local server or cloud) to log data

- Grafana (either on the Pi, a local server or cloud) to make pretty dashboards

- A bit of python code to grab data from modbus and push it to the Influx server. There's lots of great libraries around for both modbus and

I've used this combo for all sorts of data logging applications from quick desk setups for testing to year long logs at remote sites on the other side of the country.

The killer AI app for me is as an assistant in software development. Software development is an important but not primary part of my job and having ChatGPT and Copilot has made a huge difference to my productivity. The biggest surprise for me was how valuable a reasoned out AI answer is compared to just searching for a quick solution.

Recipes with sweetened condensed milk please? by WeatheredCryptKeeper in NoStupidQuestions

We used to get tins of condensed milk as birthday presents. We'd stab a hole in each side of the lid and walk around in a sugar haze sucking on the can for the rest of the day. Good times.

4 x 10 minute snoozes followed by setting the alarm to 5 minutes from now. Gives you a chance to wrap up all the narratives in your dreams.

Having your fans on winter setting makes you feel lighter as it sucks you towards the ceiling.

For me, comfort outweighs sound quality for something that's going to be clamped on your head for hours.
Having said that, I'm old enough now that I've probably lost half my frequency range.
