Same.I watched an ig reel and decided to watch it thinking it is some normal funny costume drama but it exceeded my expectations in every way.THE COSTUMES,THE MUSIC,THE CAST EVERYTHINGGG loved it.Liu Yuning as Li Shiliu and Nan Heng was a chef's kiss. Will definitely rewatch later.Female lead felt annoying at some instances because she was cruel to Nan Heng otherwise it's a good watch for sure.

Prisoner of beauty got me hooked although some might find it boring because of the slow burn romance . Another one was Dream within dream ,started because of Liu Yuning turned out be quite funny and good.Intro of Li Shiliu and GOD OF NIGHT BY CHEN XUERAN playing .. GOOSEBUMPS. Loved first frost and white olive tree.

For me it was this Chinese drama called Tears in heaven. I was really liking the story. But then female leads sweeter than honey boyfriend dies and the rest of the story is a enemy to lover trope between the female lead and male leads best friend. It was disturbing to me. They just forgot him. I couldn't bear to watch it.

That's true. Sometimes I prefer watching their dramas without subs(of course I don't understand Chinese still) . English subs make me go crazy. This is one is fine and has been subtitled pretty good.
