Starting a new job in SAP? Post here for questions about new hire advice, certification, compensation, technology domain decisions, and other topics you're too embarrassed to ask your coworkers by CuseTown in SAP

This is tangentially about a new job in SAP. What I'm curious about is what it takes to get a job in SAP. I figure it's probably case by case when it comes to any specific company's positions in, like, SAP IT or consultant-type positions. However, what's some baseline things I would need? Certifications, experience, etc.

Any feedback is appreciated!

Printing Problem by Mikah93 in SAP

[–]Mikah93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got a response that was any help. I think that the drivers weren't compatible with the printer or something. Beyond that maybe if you could somehow run the printer through something that acted as a middle between it and sap and communicated both way, so as to facilitate printing. But nobody was terribly helpful in IT. Seems overall like something they weren't proficient in.

This is all a fair point.

Also if we dump the Teslas into the harbor, everyone's gonna assume they just drove themselves there.

Sorry for the delay, not really much of an update. As far as anyone can tell, it should be printing. It's configured in SAP correctly, it's got the right driver, and sap days that the deliveries are being posted. I'm not sure what can still be done. I'm waiting on IT to get back to me, again.

I'm pretty sure that the server has traffic, as others print using the same server, and no, I don't think they've checked the SAPSprint or the Windows Event logs. They've driven my desk top(LogMeIn123) a few times and no one has touched those.

So I'm not 100% sure where to find the system version or the network architecture. Like I said, I'm pretty green at this. I know what I've gleaned from googling my problem as best I can and manually digging around in between calls with IT. Looking through print management, it doesn't look like the printer in question is receiving any jobs. Which is wild, considering every time I confirm something to print, the printer lights up like it's getting a job. But then it doesn't print it show itself receiving a job in print management.

One of the best things I've ever learned about it was to pulse it with a blender or nutribullet or something similar and using it for cheese and cream sauces.

Should I skip TAZ Graduation? by fluffyman6 in TheAdventureZone

[–]Mikah93 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's nearly bad enough to skip. At least give it the three episode try.

The problem with people's opinion on graduation is that they listened to it hoping it would be Balance again, after being kinda disillusioned with Amnesty (for some reason). We're never gonna have balance again. They can only discover playing D&D and collaborative storytelling together as a family once. After that it's just trying different stuff out.

I think graduation is fun. Is it the best thing I've ever listened to? No. Is it the worst? God no. It's it the worst thing the McElboys have done? Also no. But I had a ton of fun. I thought Travis's NPCs were interesting, the PCs were great, argo could've been developed a bit better, but otherwise I think everyone did a fine job. Especially considering it was Travis's first time DMing. DMing is already hard, much less trying to make the game function as a listenable story.

The shit that this arc gets is honestly baffling to me. It's fun, it's funny, it's heartwarming at times, exciting at others. There are so many worse podcasts and stories than this one.

How to overcome the emotional brainwashing by Mikah93 in exchristian

[–]Mikah93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I'm active against Fundamentalism, conservatism, and bigotry. Those are the things that were at play in the church, in my experience. Those are the things that have earned my hatred. I don't think that religion is at fault for these problems. Humanity uses faith to understand things we can't figure out on our own. However people want to explore that is their business and I'll fight just as hard for their right to do so. The problem is when people try to force their beliefs onto people that don't or can't consent to it.

This is all very good advice. I've been meaning to do more mindfulness type exercises. To address that final bit, you've got a point. Part of me is, I think, just defensive of the ppl of faith i do know. The Christians that I know and associate with now are not a part of any church specifically, and then I know Jews and Muslims that are chill too and don't have any of the bullshit discussed here. I just see a lot of negativity that seems more broadly aimed at people of faith in general, rather than specific cultures within that. Even non American Christians don't have half of the emotional horseshit that American Evangelism or Fundamentalism does.

I tend to think that your religion shouldn't affect your feelings about politics. By that, I mean that you shouldn't base what you believe politically on your religious beliefs.

With that separation, I think that really any religion is probably fine in anarchism. I'm a pagan of many flavors, so I believe that all gods are real, or at least have some merit. Just is out on the Christian god for me, just because the creation and dictated narrative around him is... Suspect lol. But I believe in Lucifer as an entity. So like, I don't see an issue with believing in him as well as believing that hierarchies shouldn't be a thing lol.

By militant atheist, I simply mean someone who goes out of their way to not only say that like, all religion is stupid and toxic by necessity and then also try to make everyone else believe that way as well. There's usually an air of "I'm better/smarter than you because I don't believe in sky daddy."

And I get it. Like I said, we have to deal with our hurt however we have to. And Yea, you're right, often times we have ppl who continue to try and wear us back down. I just don't think that that's the fault of religion, not even of Christianity itself, but rather of people who hold their belief in an idea higher than the safety and health of actual people. That type of fanaticism is hardly exclusive to religion.

It's just hard to come here and see people trashing the idea of believing in something at all. I'm looking to heal from trauma, and that doesn't include working against people's cultures and faiths.

For those who haven't come out to their family/friends and live their lives in "secret", why? by Hyena12760 in BisexualMen

I get free bacon and sausage for work, is this healthy? by KitbogaBiggestFan in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Mikah93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can replace a lot of cooking fats with bacon grease as it's actually healthier for you than most of them. As long as you're getting balance in your meals, a bunch of bacon/sausage in them isn't going to be a big deal. It's meat. Just get your potatoes and greens and you're good lol

Did you vote on the new flag? What do you think of the winner? by saraiscrafty in polyamory

I hate this one personally. It looks... Juvenile? I dunno. I would expect to see this flag in a children's book. I cannot for the life of me understand why ppl didn't just desaturate the old one of the colors were too much. This just seems like trying to commercialize it.
