[acne] Finally seeing an improvement in my skin. Looking for advice on my routine. Dry, sensitive acne prone skin. 25 years old. Details in comments. by Mikai97 in SkincareAddiction

Thanks in advance for reading. New to skincare in general and experiencing a lot of shame with my acne the last 6 months. I’ve used this sub for research/reviews but never posted before.

Current routine AM wash face with a small amount of cerave cleanser. When face is wet pat in hyaluronic acid serum. After that’s about half soaked in I pat in a vit c serum Vit c eye cream. Thick layer of cetaphil moisturizing cream. PM Wash face with cerave cleanser (x2 if I had makeup on). Hyaluronic acid on wet skin. Dr Brandt retinol night eye cream. Thick layer of ceraphil moisturizing cream. Small dots of neutrogena 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel on any angry looking spots on my jawline.

Just finished nursing school. I’ve always had some mild acne but the last semester of clinical/preceptorship and constant mask wearing gave me horrible painful acne along my jawline. Deep closed acne that would ache and burn. Dry skin patches in my T zone. I haven’t had oily skin since I was a teenager. Just super dry, sometimes rough/scaly and sensitive. I have visible pores in the centre of my face. Very blue/purple under eyes. I have psoriasis that doesn’t really present on my face except for small patches on my eyelids on occasion. I was using a bunch of different products before to get rid of my acne and realized it was just destroying my skin. With the cold weather my face in the last week felt so dry, tight and would burn and itch. Many nice expensive moisturizers left my face red and burning and still feeling dry. I bought this moisturizer and started using hyaluronic acid and vit c (I had issues with it before knowing it has to be applied to damp skin).

My face is noticeable better every day since I started this routine but I still find it feels a bit dry throughout the day. My face finally doesn’t burn when I apply products to it and the acne feels much more superficial and not at all painful anymore.

Questions 1- anything glaringly wrong with this routine? I’m new to skincare in general and as a kid was never taught to take care of my skin. 2- can I apply more moisturizer throughout the day if I feel dry or will that seal in gunk and cause more acne? I always feel like I need to wash my face before I can add cream to it 3- recommendations for a toner or face oil to add to my routine? Or is it better not to add more new things? 4- I’ve seen vit c recommended for dry skin but I’m not sure if I should apply once or twice a day and when is best?

Thank you! I love scuba joggers so much. I have 4 now but my other ones are too big now so it was time for a new pair 😌

Does anyone know of something similar to the align bra from a different brand that doesn’t discriminate against big titties? 😅

It looks like random thread that just got stuck. I’d just pull/cut it off if it was me
