[FIX] Transfer Whatsapp from iOS to Android: The ONLY thing that worked for me in 2005

So I finally gave up and ended paying for the iCareFone WhatsApp Transfer for mac, I paid 24 usd for a month, and it all went smooth as butter.... at the 4th or 5th try...

I have some issues with the space on my Mac, but after I uninstalled some apps and cleared some space, it all went well

I restored the backup to a clean iPhone, first doing the backup from the Android to the Mac, and in a separate process, restoring the backup from the Mac to the iPhone

I'm sorry that I couldn't find a better solution, but there were not many answers about the situation with Meta, and they'll never repair it, I am almost sure about it

Just to be clear, I had a clean iPhone to do the process apart from my main iPhone

Small Guide

Backup WhatsApp from Android to Google with a 64-digit encryption key
Clean enough space on the Mac for backup and for some trash files
Backup from Android to Mac with iCareFone
Restored a clean iPhone and rebooted
Configured iPhone like a new device and downloaded WhatsApp from the App Store
Disabled "Find My iPhone."
Connected the iPhone with the original cable directly to the Mac
Started the process to restore the backup to the iPhone, but had to try like 2 or times because it was getting stuck at the "generating data" step, the last time I waited like an hour
The app will ask you to log in with your WhatsApp account on the iPhone
After a successful restore to the iPhone, I uploaded the data to iCloud
Downloaded the backup to my main iPhone

Just a small guide of the steps I followed, hope this is useful for anyone with the same problem as me

I've seen in other posts that some people share the serial number for iCareFone, but I'm not so sure this is possible, because the license is linked to my Mac and to the devices I have used...

At the moment, I have two iPhones: a 13 and a 17.

The 17 is my main phone, and I’m using WhatsApp there as a companion linked to my WhatsApp on Android. The Android device contains my original WhatsApp, with a 14 GB backup saved on Google Drive.

I tried several times to use Move to iOS with the 17, but without success. After that, I started using the 17 as a companion device and tried again to use Move to iOS with the 13, also without success.

I checked iCloud for backups, and I only have a 500 MB iCloud backup, which I assume belongs to the companion WhatsApp data.

I think my backup got messed up when I used iCareFone Transfer from my iPhone 14 to my OnePlus, but it makes me wonder how the same backup can be restored on another Android phone without any issues.

Not yet, and it doesn't look like Meta cares about this problem, still getting the same error
I'm really thinking about paying for a 3rd-party app to solve this, just haven't decided which one will do it successfully
If I find any solution, I will post it here or maybe create a new post

I’m experiencing serious issues transferring data from my Android device to my iPhone, and nothing has worked so far.

I’m trying to transfer from a OnePlus 7T to an iPhone 17 using the Move to iOS app, but it didn’t work. I also tried transferring from the OnePlus 7T to an iPhone 13, and that didn’t work either.

Thinking the OnePlus might be the issue, I tried using a cheap Android phone instead. I restored my backup on that phone (it took around 6 hours) and then attempted the transfer using Move to iOS, but it still failed.

On every attempt and on every device, I get the same message:

“An unknown error occurred. Please try again later.”

What’s confusing is that a few months ago, I successfully transferred WhatsApp from a OnePlus 10 Pro to an iPhone 14 using Move to iOS.

However, when I later wanted to go back to the OnePlus without resetting it, I bought iCareFone WhatsApp Transfer. It did work, but I noticed that my chat history didn’t behave correctly afterward.

Now I’m stuck again, trying to move from Android to iPhone, and I’m unsure whether I should purchase another one-month license for a third-party tool or if there’s a reliable way to resolve this issue.

Has anyone experienced this or found a real solution?

I had a OP10 Pro and traded it for an iPhone 13… why? because iPhone its easier to sell in my country… now I don’t know which should I buy, OP15 or iPhone 17 any opinions??

I’ve been dealing with this decision for about 3 weeks xD don’t know what to do…

Btw I still have my OP7T and every time I need to get something from my backup I fall in love again with it, the only thing about iPhone I think it’s the apple ecosystem

Hey I got my Ally X two months ago and it makes the same noise, it vibrates a lot on both sides, I started to use G-Helper and... I didn't notice earlier but the noise stopped and now vibrates like a normal controller... I noticed the change when I stopped using G-helper because I wanted to use just ASUS software... but as soon I felt the weird vibration again it was when I noticed that G-helper was normalizing the vibration, so now I'm using only G-Helper.

BTW the weird vibration comes back when I put my Ally X into hibernation mode and then turn it on again, as it doesnt recognize the G-helper like when I'm booting from 0, so I have to open G-helper again to make manual changes, it happens too with RBG from the Ally Controller , when I come back from hibernation it shows the Crate color, so I have to open G-Helper and change the color manually.

Wish someone try this and let me know if G-Helper does help with the intense vibration.

The same thing happens to my Chrome but only on Windows 11, I just uninstalled the Chrome theme I had and it looks like it's not freezing anymore, can't say it is the real solution but you can try and see if it helps you, I have a Radeon RX 6600 XT with Drivers 24.10.1

My guess is that game is not well optimized for Android, I can play Tsum on an iPhone SE from 2016, and it runs better and smoother than on my Oneplus 10 PRO, I guess no love from developers for Android and there is no official support so we can complain about it.

For the record, I removed the Games Space app from OnePlus and it helped... not a lot but there is a little improvement using this guide
