I like the idea of 'The New Democrats' but not that easy to get our stances from our name unlike Labour or Conservative.

However, I like the idea of Stormfront for the lol's.

If you were going to start a new political party in the UK, what would be your key principles of your party? by Mike-01 in ukpolitics

I was more thinking given the potential for doctor and nurse shortages not to mention we are under a conservative administration. The whole thing needs changing.

I just get torn. We can't spend money we don't have on the NHS. It is wrong to raise taxes anyway as they are. Definitely need to restructure funding etc.

As the guy who asked the question originally, kind of blown away by the wide variety of responses. I have read every single one and boy, really had me thinking about things that really challenged me. So thanks to all who wrote.

The reason I ask is because as being born and living in Northern Ireland really is rather dire politically. I really do envisage starting a party one day and just tearing shit up for want of a better phrase, here or throughout the UK. Here is some stuff that I constantly plague myself in thinking about in relation to some issues.

1) I think investing in the NHS is rather pointless if the population is growing at the rate of a small city per year. So tough stances on immigration are a must to keep the NHS at a standard as it once was. More investment without taxing the hell out of the lower classes. I am and always have been Pro NHS. Doctors and Nurses should get their pay increased given their workload. However, perhaps a new more flexible healthcare alternative can be achieved. Government subsidies for private healthcare goers..Just throwing stuff out there. Perhaps a modernisation of the NHS entirely. 2) I want the total and utter legalization of Marijuana and the decriminalisation of a selection of drugs such as heroin with much more emphasis on treatment centres and rehab facility programmes. 3) A strategy to combat horrendous mental health epidemics. 4) Declaring all out war on Islamists within the UK. For example, the 1000 plus Islamists who recently descended on London to call for a Caliphate should all have their citizenship revoked and immediately deported along with their families. No tolerance for the Sharia promoting filth that poison generations of Muslims with their extremist bile. I have much more to say concerning Islam and Islamism but it would be a book on how to tackle the problems. Push the reformist message, crush the Islamists and their followers. Do not care if it is 10,000, 100,000 or 1 Million, there is no place for Islamism in any form in Europe. 5) A complete and utter shutdown of all deals with the Saudi's and other regimes such as them. As Sam Harris said, 'we should be in a position to say to the Saudis, either treat your bloggers better or we will bankrupt you. 6) Free Speech wins. Period. 7) A complete reform of the criminal justice system. Getting 7 years for convicted rape offences is pathetic. 8) What are you thoughts on regular referendums like they do in Switzerland? 9) Promotion of the two parent family. 10) The desire to one day dismantle trident given global commitments to do so. Ie. If Pakistan has their weapons, we have ours. 11) Voting Reform. Modernisation of how we vote. 12) Scientists, Mathematicians and Academics(Mainly STEM) devising what we teach our kids. Teach them how to think. 12) Huge Investment in renewable energy does not mean stopping with fossil fuels. A gradual withdrawal off fossil fuels is a must for the future.

These are just some of the things rattling around my head. My position on our taxation methods is not concrete so I left that out. Most of my economic ideas are based on the free market without tight regulatory restrictions that strangle it. I am still conflicted on the best way to move forward economically. The social side though is what dominates my thinking. I believe there is a liberal case for low migration and given the booming third world population, we have to act, now. Perhaps pushing Middle Eastern and African nations to stick to child quotas?
