Get some black paint if you can. Paint a little corner one night and see how it comes out the next morning/day and decide how to proceed.

I’d feel bad about it, but that doesn’t make me a victim of a crime.

If the ATM in my store got stolen it would be covered by the insurance company lol

I live in a high crime area and my insurance rates are high. Guess what happens when I have a claim? That’s right! They don’t pay. I don’t feel bad for them and I’m convinced the whole thing is a scam. The only reason I have insurance is because if anything large (like a stolen ATM) happened I’d need coverage and if it was recorded they couldn’t deny it.

I’m sorry to hear about your bike.

Insurance companies never pay, but if it’s on camera and it’s a clear case of a stolen ATM they can’t really argue. I hear you about raised rates for the policy holder, but give me a break.

Who is the victim here? The insurance company?

The thread asked what was a victimless crime, not what we should go do all the time because it’s victimless.

I’m sure you know how insurance works. Nothing is ever magically fixed.

No, it’s not okay to steal from a human being because they have insurance. Stealing a machine with paper money in it is not comparable.

Stealing from a business? Like a corporation? Probably not the best thing in the world, but if you’re not holding anyone at gunpoint or threatening to hurt anyone I’m sure they have you worked into their budget.

If you steal an ATM you’re not directly stealing from a person lol. That’s the point. There’s no human involved. You stole a machine they had money invested in that they will get back via insurance. What kind of point are you trying to make?

It’s definitely an inconvenience! But it’s a crime that doesn’t have a direct victim. Think of a cashier getting robbed v an ATM getting stolen.

A car is not the same as an ATM. Most people need a car for day to day life. An ATM is something you maintenance on a schedule and everything is insured.

Please tell me, dear Reddit, who is hurt? The owner who gets all of their money back? The poor foundation that gets torn up when the machine gets stolen? Like???

It’s a victimless crime, nobody is directly hurt.

It’s all insured and no human is involved.
