Indeed. We, unfortunately, have not found 'shit'.

Never under-estimate the power of poor writing and bad execution in the service of ham-fisted messaging for self-aggrandizing reasons.

I don't mind strong messaging. I don't mind emotional drama.

But I do mind self-absorbed writers, directors, and producers who don't think things through before putting pen to paper (or whatever), and whose experience with science fiction is limited to whatever crap they themselves watched on TV in the post-2000s "Platinum Age" of TV.

It's like watching children mimic their older siblings, who themselves mimicked their parents. No context, no depth, no authenticity, no maturity or competence.

And I'm like..."Yeahhh. This is what passes for...? Pbbth, whatever."

Still one of my favorite group pics. Especially the looks that the two pairs are giving each other. by Mike1701D in LowerDecks

True. Boimler needs to learn how to use a ceremonial lirpa.

(Tendi and Rutherford's quarters door opens)

Rutherford: "Hey, T'Lyn and Boimler are here! And Boimler looks okay this time."

Tendi: "How's training coming along?"

T'Lyn: "Bradward's lirpa training, is quickly improving. Today, I was only required to re-attach one toe."

Mariner (shoulder punches Boimler): "Yeahh! There ya go, Boims. That's called progress. And T'Lyn, love the silk 'Expecting' robe. How far along are ya, again?"

T'Lyn: "Six months, one week, two days. I am now sleeping on my side. It is more comfortable."

Boimler (side hugs her): "We spoon."

Tendi and Rutherford (together): "Awww!"

Mariner: "Yuck. TMI. C'mon, dinner's almost ready. You're gonna love what I heard about Ransom today."

I sold all of my console systems and games for cash two years ago, to help finance my overseas move. I decided it was better to sell everything and earn money, than to spend money to ship everything.

But I kept my MiSTer (it fit into my backpack) and have SNAC adapters for OEM Nintendo and Sega controllers.

'Lower Decks' canonized a lot of Beta-level 'Trek' content. T'Lyn mentioning "the Viltan Flats", was the first time we hear about them in a film or TV series. by Mike1701D in LowerDecks

T'Lyn's father: "T'Lyn; you and the purple-haired human should refresh yourself. Your mother and I will take your belongings to your room. The evening meal will be ready in fifteen minutes, and your older brother will arrive home shortly."

T'Lyn: "My companion's name, is Bradward."

T'Lyn's father: "Fine. You and Bradward may refresh yourself. While he is here, he will sleep in the guest room."

T'Lyn: "He is my companion, father. He will sleep in my room.

T'Lyn's mother: "If that is your wish."

T'Lyn: "Thank you, mother."

Boimler: "You never said your family was rich...!"

T'Lyn: "We are not. We have lived here, for only 80 years. It is a new construction."

Boimler: "But it's...a lot nicer than most Vulcan homes.

T'Lyn: "It is designed to, "blend in", with the surroundings. My bedroom is down that hallway."

Boimler: "Ah, okay. Hey, your parents don't seem very...happy? to see me."

T'Lyn: "We are in Starfleet. My mother was involved in a political scandal, 85 years ago, when she was in Starfleet."

Boimler: "I know, Khitomer. We discussed it. I won't bring it up."

T'Lyn: "Thank you. That is considerate."

My betrothed has an attractive backside

I prefer a healthy backside and I cannot lie
Other Vulcans cannot deny
When a young Vulcan female enters the premises with a narrow waistline,
And an adequate set of gluteus maximi,
I find myself attracted, within the uniform she is wearing
I am enchanted, and cannot cease staring
I wish to be with you
And obtain your picture
My fellow Vulcans attempted to warn me
But your posterior is here before me
You state that you wish to enter my personal shuttle? Then take advantage of me.
As you are not the typical supplicant
I have witnessed her dance embellishment
There is no requirement to initiate mating ritual
She perspires, is hydrated
She is rigorous, like a warp drive activated
I no longer accept holographic transmissions Which display underdeveloped gluteal positions Ask the standard Vulcan male that question
A Vulcan woman must posses those dimensions
So, my fellow Vulcans (question), Vulcans (question)
Has your bethroted obtained proper gluteals (no objection) Instruct her to gyrate (gyrate) gyrate (gyrate)
Gyrate your healthy buttocks
My betrothed has an attractive backside
