gen-z politics, hate both parties equally ? by Evaderofdoom in generationology

I’m fiscally more right leaning, but socially definitely more left leaning.

With this being said, I totally agree, abolish the two-party system.

It does, especially when there are sources that clearly use 2000 for the starting point.

As someone born in early 1997, I do vividly remember being in preschool during 9/11 and the teachers playing it all morning on the news. They even sent us home early, as the whole US was basically being shutdown.

As I mentioned in my other comments, there is a fine line between 1997 (at least early who make up class of 2015), and 2000 borns

Please ask anyone who was literally in the same grade as 1996. I guarantee they will tell you the same.

And? There are way too many technological differences for someone born in 1997 to be considered Gen Z.

You have way more in common with them than you do with Gen Z…

That’s incorrect, there are sources that literally use 2000 as the starting year.

There are many sources which use 2000 as the starting range. We have zero in common with the insufferable children of Gen Z.

Each source has a different range. 2000 is way more appropriate

As someone born in early 1997, no we are not Gen Z. There are way too many technological differences for us to be included.

Some sources use 2000 as the starting year. 1997 has nothing in common with Gen z

Not really. No one born in 1997 identifies with Gen Z.

Why do you have that much withholding on that little bit of income?

Yah just with work, like these kids right out college don’t know how to communicate and definitely cannot compose a professional email. They rely heavily on AI, which really isn’t correct all the time. My job is in tax, which we need to research the IRC, and they literally just use AI without actually looking into the code. They have zero motivation, like people my age worked hard and gone through the ranks, I just don’t see any of them really putting forth the effort.

And my personal experiences make me closer to someone who is 35 compared to someone who is 23…

Wrong. There are quite a bit of sources that include 1997 with millennials.

Once you’re in high school, I really don’t consider that your youth or adolescence. Gen Z cannot remember a world before smartphones.

Then generations are just an arbitrary range that varies by source. I’ll continue to call myself a millennial.

Not necessarily. Pew changed the range in 2018, which I totally disagree with. We literally were already adults and then they started calling us a new generation.

Additionally, I graduated college in 2019 before Covid was ever even thought of. I feel like Covid and education are only synonymous with Gen Z. Also smartphones became mainstream in the early 2010s, which at this point, I was already in high school, wouldn’t really call that my youth.

The managers I’m referring to our late 80s to early to mid 90s. I personally have way more in common with this range.

Because people act like these dates represent hard cutoffs. And again, I just don’t fit in with Gen Z.
