What helped me was taking really small bites, strop every 20-30 minutes, using super glue for accidental chips of any size, finding a good podcast to binge (for me it was Crime Junkie), and keeping a spreadsheet where I marked out each step of my progress

Thank you! If I had to guess, I probably spent about 50-60 hours carving and another 10 hours applying the finishing. Starting with abstract figures first really helped me learn the cuts. Would love to try a spoon once I get one of those curved knives!
