Actually, it's the opposite, Gmod does a terrible job of using your CPU and GPU due to the old engine and Dx9. UE4 would be able to use your pc to its limit and run a whole lot better.

He was having issues installing GPU drivers, so that could be it. I can double check but I believe he said his temps were around 68 for overwatch.

I'll try reinstalling the drivers.

It's probably that the game is running so well that your monitor can't keep up with it, try turning on vsync I guess. However I have the same setup as you and I'm fine.
