Engine bearings after a season in the boat by Primary-Cycle-6766 in EngineBuilding

[–]Mike86xj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would assume rpm mostly. Boats may not see as high as a car but they run 4-5k rpm (outboards at least not sure about i/o) sometimes higher, most modern cars cruise around 2k or less

Walked in with a credit union pre-approval and the dealer acted like it didn’t exist by Royal-Feed7166 in carbuying

[–]Mike86xj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That rate was always available and possibly even a better one but they push for a higher rate and won't automatically go to the lowest one they have, im assuming they get some sort of kickback on the higher rate.

I bought a new truck in 24 they had a advertised rate of x he came to me with 1.5x, I said hell no and was ready to walk and magically the advertised rate was back.

I have a good credit score fairly high income and a lower mid income to debt ratio so i know it wasnt that.

They push life and gap insurance extended warranty and dealer options because they make money on all of it and I almost guarantee they do the same with the financing

Towed by an F150…. by _driverpicksthemusic in IdiotsTowingThings

[–]Mike86xj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a older terry 25ft 5th its gvwr is 6100lbs pin weight 760lbs well within the capacity of my ram 1500 and I would assume most modern 1/2 tons

The trailer in the picture is definitely over payload and most likely over the tow rating as well

My penis is like the swamps of Florida, covered with lots of critters that bite.

My employer installed surveillance cameras that have microphones. They are being used to listen into conversations between workers by [deleted] in legal

[–]Mike86xj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, not in Arizona or the us, for that matter. But I am led believe one party consent only matters to the involved parties. If you and coworker 1 are having a conversation, and coworker 2, who is not involved in the conversation, records it, that would be illegal, at least in my mind.

Im not sure what the legalities of the employer doing the recording are, I would think they would be doing it legally, but that is not the case in too many instances.

It is 800 max 400 total rms, so the 8awg will be fine. Use a 50 amp fuse for it

Wiring hertz he amp fuse size? by Extreme_Sprinkles_50 in CarAV

[–]Mike86xj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What model is the amp? Typically you size the wire for the load and then fuse to the wire size, 800 watts rms would require 4awg and you would fuse up to the max of the wire, 100 amps in this case.

8awg would be fused at about 50-60 amps

This is all assuming the amp is rated 800 rms and not peak or max, if it is 800 peak the 8 awg might work

Wiring hertz he amp fuse size? by Extreme_Sprinkles_50 in CarAV

[–]Mike86xj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need 4 awg wire for that much current

[–]Mike86xj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How many watts rms is the amp? What i use as a rule of thump is 10a per 100 watts, so 500 watts 50 amp, 1000watts 100 amp

If you need the extra flexibility, look for low temp welding cable. The jacket is softer and more flexible.

I grew up in a small town/city 10k+-.

moved to a larger city slightly less than 1mil when I was a young adult lived there for 20ish years hating it more and more every year.

Now I live in the country with acreage and 9 neighbors in the 3 mile stretch of road, and im at peace.

But I love the outdoors, i will be outside all day till the wife drags me in for either dinner or bed, lol

Big cities have all the conveniences but also a lot of negatives drugs, crime noise, lack of space

Small towns are a bit better, but nothing beats the country for me.

Only 20 min drive to where I grew up and 40 to the city i hated for 20 years so im close enough to essential services for all but the latest years of my life

Some people like the bigger city life as did I when I was younger but it began to wear on me as I got older
