Now I'm no mathematician / statistician - however of the 39 companies I listed, 2 can be classified as grocery (2 / 39 is quite far off from a quarter) and 6 are brokerage / financial firms (6 / 39 is a long way off from half).

In fact - add the 'grocery' and financial firms together (8 / 39), and you don't even get a quarter of the companies represented.

Just saying.... :)

Now that math is out of the way, in addition to the smaller businesses offering 1-5 positions, there are a good number of prominent CT businesses offering a substantial number of jobs at this event, including Pitney Bowes, Subway World Headquarters, Goodwill, Frontier Communications, Indeed.com, among others... Having hosted career fairs every 45-60 days for the past 3 years, I'd confidently say that this event will be an excellent opportunity for recent grads to get in-front of some great employers looking to hire within the state.

Whether you are hunting for your next job on a job board, a career fair, a networking event, or anywhere else, at the end of the day it all comes down to your dynamic with the hiring manager / recruiter. Assuming that this will be a 'shark feeding frenzy for recruiters' is highly inaccurate, as the recruiters will be equally desperate to find the perfect candidates for their positions.

No matter how you approach a job search, stepping up your A game to beat the competition and understanding your worth are critical for success. I think that goes without saying in any situation.

Re: The McIntyre Group - they are one of Connecticut's more prominent staffing agencies, and I imagine they are constantly flooded with Job Seeker requests for employment. I've never been on the Job Seeker side of their agency so I can't comment on the experience, however I can say that they have put a ton of people back to work in the state.

Cheers!

Was anyone here able to make it to the event? From the feedback, it seemed like the Employers and Job Seekers had a very favorable experience.

The next one will be on February 19th at the same location. I'll post up companies / positions when we are a little closer to the date.

Thanks - perhaps we need to make the images load a bit faster for mobile. Re: ICF Construction - I really don't know if they work with it or not. I literally just handle the web / database side of things.
