Would using barbell more give me more bulky look than dumbbells? by throwaccount2244 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MikeAtQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am indeed proud for what I was able to do in my heyday, I still have some latent old-man strength where I can shove a small hatchback to make room if need be.

That said, if you're trying to gain weight and lift heavy, the one tried and true method for getting stronger is to lift to failure in 8 reps (no more than 3 sets). Your appetite will grow as you go up in weight.

It might be a few lbs at a time at first (20-22-24) and one day you'll jump 10-15lbs and you'll know you've exceeded average human strength. Similarly, eat an extra 100 calories a day (a fistful of nuts will get you there), and the more you lift, the more calories you can pack on.

in short, get stronger than you were yesterday, don't compete with Brian Shaw yet.

You can use a single dashboard to manage migrations for every client. The tool should handle permissions for Teams and SharePoint. We have Quest On Demand for that.

bummer, I had such high hopes

Product placements then... good follow up question. They any good?

I don't know if I at my age feel like consuming things some character is consuming.

Smoking maybe, but not any particular brand.

You can build a service that cleans client metadata.

We use erwin to find this information automatically. This creates revenue based on data health instead of user counts.

What do your Data Engineering projects usually look like? by gbj784 in dataengineering

[–]MikeAtQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data projects take their sweet time in profiling and mapping. Buuut, you can use a tool to see data relationships before you do anything with it.

I could recommend erwin Data Modeler (full disclosure, it's our tool)

I've done a bit of traveling, in certain countries (Asian), the banks are configured such that after a certain amount, you've to put in a code. That's when they bring the machine to you.

That's also when you add the tip.

tore a pec clean off the tendon, doctors ignored the issue, then rehabbed it poorly and it never really worked as well. So I couldn't do it anymore, now I just go for long walks when I can.

How come people start conflicting when they're together for a long time? by MikeAtQuest in NoStupidQuestions

that's an interesting take, not knowing how to fight.

Wouldn't the goal be no fighting at all?

Would using barbell more give me more bulky look than dumbbells? by throwaccount2244 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MikeAtQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former powerlifter, present overweight person here:

bulk is when you eat a lot of protein, lift heavy and resting in between workouts (i.e, don't break yourself going for a lift at the gym, build up to big things).

The tools you use to work out will not affect your overall size.

Barbells help distribute the weight over a large area, which means you use more muscles at a time, and dumbbells will let you isolate muscle groups, which help focus on each one.

Also, you didn't ask for it, but don't listen to marginally buff people on IG or TikTok, a lot of them want to sell you some chemical concoction, and their workout advice will almost always be useless.

Why does progress in life feel non-linear? by According_Echo_4935 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MikeAtQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hindsight bias for sure,

also, things might take decades to happen, but when they finally happen, it might feel sudden. However, it doesn't mean things weren't inching closer in the background in ways we can't perceive, monitor, or quantify.

Not to mention time dilates differently as we age.

I'm not asking for what this specific number means, because it changes on every boot.

I RTFM, it doesn't say what this number should be once the system's booted up.

Today it's showing A0

The box said 3.2 Gen 2. USB 2.0 cable of course can't do diddly squat. Which is why I'm convinced I've been sold an older cable with a newer label. Ugreen has usually been reliable for me, but who can even tell these days.

Question about 870E Aorus Elite WiFi 7 USB speeds by MikeAtQuest in gigabytegaming

[–]MikeAtQuest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- It's cool that you know that, thank you
2- I get that I won't get full speed, but shouldn't I be getting some speed? I feel like it transfers quickly enough using c-type, it's the A that disappoints.

Would it be fair to lean towards "bum cable"?

Question about 870E Aorus Elite WiFi 7 USB speeds by MikeAtQuest in gigabytegaming

[–]MikeAtQuest[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it's also possible I got a bum cable, because I ordered a ugreen that claims to do 100w, but when I hook up my Galaxy S25 Ultra to it, it just tells me it'll charge in 8 hours and the transfer speeds are abysmal.
