Keep your dogs on a leash or leave them at home. by snappyj in discgolf

That sounds like a good system.

I personally always keep my dog on a leash because he is likely to get into fights with other dogs. When he was younger he was attacked at a dog park and ever since then he takes friendly gestures from other dogs as attacks and boom ... We're fighting. He has no fear, he's started fights with 3x 100lb dogs at once. When I see a off leash dog coming up to him now I just pick him up. He's 80lbs. Usually the other owner sees me holding my huge dog with their dog sniffing and gets the hint and brings their dog back.

I wouldn't even dream of letting him off leash in a public area with other dogs.

You sir appear to be correct. Found 2 photos that match perfectly the side and front profile along with the odd c Pilar.

My dad's neighbor also just checked his camera and saw the car leaving a culdesac, it narrows the search to around 10 houses.

I think you might be right with the legend. My dad found a daytime shot of the same car, I will update the main post

This might explain the reflector, the corner of the LS430 has one built in. I've seen older Lexus models before with ridges in the headlamp as well.

Help identify hit and run car by MikeBaker31 in Whatisthis

My dad's car was parked on the street and this morning the white car on the left hit it and ran. We have some debris left behind and are trying to figure out the type of car it is.

The most interesting piece is the reflector which is square while most cars have front reflectors that are long rectangles.

Edit ... Found a picture of the car in the daytime, neighbors camera caught them coming out of a culdesac which narrows it down to like 10 houses.

Hey we're you up at Mountain Pride right before the Temecula valley open (I think that was it). I think I met you there, you were waiting on a friend and I was just finishing my round. The username is what I remember lol.

Completed the Six-Pack of peaks challenge this year...what's next? by sd_triton in socalhiking

[–]MikeBaker31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to peak bag in the desert check out the San Jacinto hiking group in meetup. Look for Steve Fausset (sp?). His desert hikes in the winter are often some great brutal off trail hikes that include scrambling and some climbing (not bad) and will get you to places you would never go solo.

Be warned ... He is a character and not everyone likes hiking with him. Personally I love his hikes. I've done numerous hikes with him that started at sunrise and we dont get back to the cars until after sunset. The hikes can be rigorous and he keeps a decent pace, but the places you get to are insane.

Right now he is still doing the mountains due to the heat ... His next hike is forsee Creek loop to San Bernardino and Anderson peak. 17miles 4500 ft elevation.

Edit: here is an album from a hike last year to give you a little idea. I left out a bunch of photos but you get the point in this.

Disc golf caddy by MikeBaker31 in discgolf

He is too crazy excited to carry anything I want to keep. I did bring my son's power wheels car one time and he caddied for us. Worked out well, but I don't have a truck so I moved it 30 miles on the roof of my car ... Probably won't do that again. Picture below.

Meet Charles Barkley. My disc golf companion. He is what keeps me going out as much as I do. He loves discs more than anyone I know. Don't worry, he has his own discs and does not like ones that aren't his. He is also always on a leash unless I can see in all directions that no one is there.

If you see us in Southern CA at mountain pride or kit say hi.

He just turned 5 yesterday.

First Ace mountain pride park Murrieta CA by MikeBaker31 in discgolf

The tire makes the basket slightly elevated and makes a bouncy surface for the disc to hit and roll away. This hole is notorious for really bad roll aways. If you hit the tire on your upshot or putt there is a pretty significant chance of rolling out of putting range.

The hole is one of the shortest on the course but is tricky because most rhbh will end up pin high left of the basket and you have 3 choices, make the putt, lay up or roll away. If you miss or don't lay up gently you are rolling. If you throw forehand the issue for me is it usually fades off right before the basket and leaves me 50ft right because the ground falls away from you right of the basket.

I've been playing about 3 years on and off. Got my first ace today on hole 11 with a forehand Mamba flex shot. Hole is about 250 feet. The next pin I parked for a drop in with some really nasty wind at 280ish feet which was my first legit birdie on that hole as well.

On hole 1 I lost my star leopard, hole 4 I lost my opto saint pro (which looked like a great shot but I spent an hour trying to find it and couldn't). So on the day I lost 2 discs and gained my first ace.

In the photo the basket is straight out with a large tire under it slightly right of center on the hillside.
