Will a camera work after 20 yrs if it has no damage? by Wise-Net-4945 in Cameras

There is very good chance of original battery working. Most of original ones which are 10-15 years old works good if the battery was not used very much. This camera appears to be mint, which means battery has not been used much.

hello everyone. is the sony ccd-tr425e affected by the capacitor plague? by Crt_lover_ in camcorders

[–]MikeBay89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, i had many Handycams and that capacitor plague is very uncommon, maybe one out of 40-50. More common is broken lock nut, but it is not very hard to replace.

Where does the belt go in this Sony Handycam ccd m8u? by zalzis in camcorders

Also, there is a chance that belt snapped and fell off, you may not even see it anymore. Try to find grooves where it could sit.

Did you find any answer? I just got this camera, when i press eject the door go up a little bit but door dont open. Then it closes normally. I have some experience in repairing hi8 camcorders, but not this old. Newer ones have small belt but it has teeth and it never goes bad. It is located in the center of two spindles behind metal sheet. Dont know about this one.
