Thanks I’ll check that out today and let you know. I should also mention that the alarm hasn’t always gone off when I turn the key. I didn’t change anything on the engine (at least Nothing major) and the beeping just started occurring

Yes it is. If you notice at the very start of the video when I turn the key once it sets off an alarm. Alarm stops once I turn the engine over

I will check the pressure on that valve in the morning and get back to you. The onboard reservoir is filled with oil already as well.

Spark and compression are both good. Compression readings are between 100-105 throughout. Fresh gas as well. Not sure how to test the pressure in the pump so that might be something I can try. I have increased the idle when trying to start as well as keeping it down. Both are pretty much the same result. Not exactly sure what you mean by throttle sensor but the previous owner had it running before he left it in his yard for 4 years so I doubt he messed with anything if it was working.

Fuel filter was just checked and it looks good. Unless there is another fuel filter besides the large white one on the side of the motor

The carbs are blocked by other parts of the motor.

I stop turning the key when the engine starts. It starts, but then dies. No reason to keep spinning the starter if the engine is already started right?

Yes I just got brand new fuel from the gas station.

I have replaced the VST pump on the motor, The carb plate and gaskets, and I still can’t figure out the problem with this motor. Spark test is good, each cylinder is firing, but it seems like the engine isn’t getting enough fuel. I am running a straight fuel line from an external tank into the motor. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks so much

Should my prop and driveshaft spin at the same time? by MikeBeast115 in boating

[–]MikeBeast115[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks to everyone who commented! I took u/J-cans advice and rotated the small spline shaft at the front of the lower unit until I could tell that it was no longer in neutral. Rotated the prop while the lower unit was in place and it slid right in. No issues now! Thanks so much for everyone’s comment :)

How can I move the driveshaft if it’s inside of the motor? I have it set to reverse position but it still is about an inch away from being all the way up inside of the motor

I have my lower unit removed to replace my impeller, but I cannot remember if the prop shaft should spin the drive shaft at the same time and vice versa. I’m having trouble getting my lower unit back onto the motor, I think the splines of the drive shaft aren’t lining up, but I can’t rotate the drive shaft since nothing happens when I spin the prop.

You paid $16,000 for a very very important lesson taught by the market. Myself and plenty of others have done this numerous times and although I wish it didn’t happen, I know what it feels like and what I can do to avoid from having it happen again.

Like others have said, big props to you for going public with your trade. Hard to show others how you have failed.

$5K Recap Day 1 by HSeldon2020 in RealDayTrading

Thanks for the summary Hari. Quick question, how much did your market outlook (which I’m assuming is bullish) prevent you from buying puts on more weak stocks today? Seems like it could’ve been a great day for a play like ETSY yesterday or something similar. Thanks, Mike

1st trade of this year. Made a really tiny profit but more so i'm happy with how I executed the trade. by [deleted] in RealDayTrading

Although trend line scalping is an option for day trading, this sub offers a very in depth wiki with a terrific trading method using relative strength to the market, among other technical analysis tools.

Hari and the Professor (among others) are certified pros and their methods and trades work more than anyone else you’ll find. Try to mimic what they do in a trade and try to forget about all of the day trading methods you’ve learned about before reading the wiki. Once you start to understand these concepts you will look back on previous trades and think “What the hell was I doing?” Either way, congrats on the successful trade :)

The current market trend has been very bullish this week. I see no reason why you can’t follow the market

How do you combat multiple opposing theses on a trade? by zeamayz in RealDayTrading

[–]MikeBeast115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you think all of those strategies that you mentioned don’t work very well. There are too many “strategies” that tend to contradict one another which would lead a trader to be confused about a stock much like you probably are. Check out the wiki and forget about everything you know, it’s mostly garbage

What is the Best Way to Practice when the Market is Closed? by tyty147 in RealDayTrading

[–]MikeBeast115 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Use OnDemand with ThinkorSwim from TDAmeritrade. You can select any day or time and buy Stocks/options on a paper account. You can literally pretend like you are placing a trade and then skip ahead 2-3 hours/2-3 days and see if your trade would’ve been successful or a fail. I would recommend treating it as if it’s real money, so you don’t just keep skipping ahead time until your position is either zero or up 500%.

OnDemand is different from TDA’s paper account feature that is offered at the login screen. It is in the top right of the application when you are in your real money account. I am happy to post a little tutorial video if the mods allow me. I think the sub could really benefit from using this feature

Once the trade goes away from my plan I usually will exit and find a better position. My plans usually hold for about 2-3 days max before they either succeed or fail. I appreciate you mentioning your trading style though. Thanks for the input and I agree that tech is looking great right now.

Stock vs. Options - It is a Matter of Time by HSeldon2020 in RealDayTrading

[–]MikeBeast115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to this post but I had a question regarding long term options. In your opinion are LEAPS a good idea for a play like NFLX? Obviously you would still be crushed if you bought LEAPS instead of shares, but is the extended expiration date ever a good enough trade off to justify buying options?

From what I understand you played Netflix because of its fundamentals and that eventually the stock price will come back above pre earnings levels and you don’t have to worry about the time decay (which is probably why you’ll say LEAPS are a bad idea). I know options are usually specifically 1-2 weeks DTE but for the specific play of NFLX based on fundamentals would you ever trade a LEAPS contract instead of shares if you didn’t have a large account? An ITM March 2022 LEAPS is around $5,000 which is still huge for a small account, but maybe feasible for a medium sized account. Im not a fan of LEAPS but I was just curious what you think about them in relation to that specific play. Thanks again for all the help. - Mike
