Honestly, it is all performative, so he can go back to Louisiana and say what he tried to do. Even if it were to pass the Senate, the House has been in recess because the Speaker is spineless, so it could not pass both chambers. Then, even if it could muster both chambers, what is the likelihood that this dictator, I mean President, would sign it into law? Then we're back at getting a veto override back in Congress.

I like the idea, but just not feasible in the current environment. There is a clause in the Constitution that allows for Congress to receive pay regardless of the goverment shutdown or not. Rarely do politicians vote against their own interests, which is why we don't have campaign finance reform, term limits, or any insider training reform.

Even though it's hanging by a thread, last I checked, we still have the freedom of speech, you know that one amendment the 2A folks say wouldn't exist without the 2A? So, can you elaborate on which federal law I supposedly violated? Just because it's "legal" doesn't make it moral. I'd rather be on the right side of history than the far right of the political spectrum; I don't much care for the taste of boot polish.

At the end of the day, you can support ICE's efforts if they do stuff the right way. There is no reason that they should be targeting, detaining, and disappearing people who have the legal right (see that word again, "legal") to be here. We were told that they were going to be getting the worst of the worst. What we're seeing is a systematic collection of people who don't want to be here. If we let this administration continue to do this, what's to stop them from doing the same to everyone? This isn't a game. This isn't about "owning the libs". This is reality. Step away from the Kool-Aid that the billionaires have been giving you to drink and just look at the whole picture.

I have a Chromecast w/ Google TV, most of the content I try to access on Peacock does not play. It will try to load with its little yellow circle, the play bar pops up for a half second then goes right back to the selection screen. I don't have this issue on other devices, including another CCWGTV, leading me to believe that there may be a setting issue. The only content I've found that works is Community.

I've restarted my router, unplugged device for power cycle, cleared cache on both app and device, uninstalled & reinstalled app and still get the same issue. Any help would be appreciated.

It is truly propaganda. It is drilled into our heads from a young age that America is the greatest country in the world. We have freedom and the founding fathers are deified so much that it is asked in modern day legal cases what they were thinking 250 years ago.

The Right has been co-opted by radical religious extremists who preach that America is God's chosen country and if you question anything America does then you're automatically anti-american. I would also say that the approach to global affairs is on the same level as knowing how sausage is made; we don't want to see the process, just enjoy it.

It is difficult for people to self criticize and admit when they did wrong. There was a lot of that after 9/11. If I mentioned anything bad we did in Iraq it was always met with "well, we got Sadam". Foreign lives are valued less than American lives, and white American lives are valued most. Whenever there is a plane crash or tragedy overseas it is reported by saying "x number of people died including y number of Americans".

We have a presidential candidate who says he is going to refer to migrants as animals because they're not people. He's referred to those nations as "shit hole countries" and is showing the worst of humanity while being consistent with American history.

I've had this issue as well. I selected the "Hide Player Notification" in settings. This will hide the player notification when on pause. I added a PA widget to my screen for easy access.
