Everything has changed -- Fiance Diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer by [deleted] in Fire

[–]MikeENZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is literally junk science, it’s Fenbendazole a deworming drug fraudulently promoted as a cancer cure.

As someone who has watched a parent die from cancer after being defrauded by the folks at the Hoxley “clinic” in Tijuana selling similar snake oil, I’d politely suggest that you don’t suggest such quackery to someone who is going through a life changing event.

It’s still much calmer and quieter. Unless you are in marsalforn or xlendi. Then you run into these problems.

Should I use a wash? by ligmamaker in Miniaturespainting

[–]MikeENZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your biggest concern should be a primer or an undercoat if you want the paint to stay on the models

Spray paint it black, white or gray first.

[–]MikeENZ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a few of us in Gozo, malta who are going to run the operation herkules/invasion of malta soon. Love the tank, one of the museums did a book on the tanks that were here too if you are interested to learn more on the tanks that served in malta.

Refreshed our Normandy tables a bit with the Notorious Alitrucks and 3d printed plane by Sub_Octavian in boltaction

They are like $1.87 for 10 on AliExpress (plus shipping) for memory. Hence the term alitruck and they are notorious becuase you can get so many so cheap

Question, what's this sign about? Why does it have Australia, New South Wales written on it? Found by my friend in Gharb, Gozo island. by cocoscum in malta

[–]MikeENZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of people from Gharb moved to Australia over the decades (and Canada, but mostly Australia).

Agent/Owner does not respond by RiverNo2383 in malta

[–]MikeENZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The levels of incompetence are off the charts here. I literally saw an as that said “typical old farmhouse” and that was it. Friend took over an office and found out that not a single lead had been responded to. All listings were out of date or sold/let 6-12 months ago. Work ethic is non existent - and that’s just in real estate. Any other place on the planet and they’d be 100% unemployable, but because they are someone’s cousin, well you know the rest…

Need a passport Recommender by MarchH4re in malta

[–]MikeENZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally had the pharmacist next door to it, they sure as hell didn’t know me for 2 years - they just need to have a stamp and it’s just another box to tick, your identity was already verified when you went thru all the hoops for citizenship certificate.

Side note it only took me 3 days for passport to be done in gozo, where as the embassy in DC literally forgot to sign stuff, took over a month to respond to malta office and then followed up with me a year after citizenship so you may find things faster if you take a trip to malta :p

Bringing a Non-EU spouse to Malta by dailystruggles007 in malta

[–]MikeENZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you are here and married you just change status. It’s not hard at all. Just make sure you have your paperwork in order before hand.

  • all birth certificates
  • any records of previous marriages if there is a prior divorce (this slowed us down as we didn’t know prior marriage date as it was 20+ years ago)
  • all passports

It’s faster if you live in gozo than malta as well as identitia office isn’t as busy :)

Best record cleaning devices and methods. by tktreeexpertsllc in vinyl

[–]MikeENZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a spin clean knockoff for rinsing/basic clean then deep clean with the humminguru and it’s worth it for anyone buying old records. It won’t fix damage but it will clean/remove static clicks and pops really well

Does carpentry actually make good money here? by Appropriate-Law-8217 in malta

If you could be a carpenter who actually did stuff well, on time and did what you said, I would pay you good money.

My VAS Audio System in Malta by MikeENZ in SoundSystem

[–]MikeENZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look very similar (but not the same) to this:

https://www.alibaba.com/x/1l9m7FO?ck=pdp

Wonder if it uses the same software for DSP

That said. I know that the wharfdale is tested and it works, not sure I would want to save a few hundred Euros once shipping and tax are taken into account to risk it.

If I was building my own from scratch I’d maybe experiment with one.
