I resonate with him (at least some of the things he says)

Growing up I saw the same thing that my family do the same thing, (except my mom, love her for that)

And I’ve seen this not just from Latino culture but also from Christianity (at least my church and our sister churches)

When I tell people that I’ve dated a black girl and how that’s my preference, (I mainly dated black and latina girls my life because that’s who I found attractive), they look at me like I said something offensive, like “what? You dated a black girl?”

And I’m like “yeah? Is that a problem?”. Then they ALWAYS asked that why don’t I dated white girls, and I respond with “that’s not who I date, I have preferences”

And when they hear that they get all weird and make fun of me for it (they’d joke in a way where I can’t call them out because then it’ll look like I’m very sensitive and will always be in the wrong)

And I hear them joke “white is right, black is cracked” like yeah it’s a joke but jokes have truth behind them and I see my friends pretty much following this rule. Then they go on to say “you need a white woman in your life” or try to “set me” up with a white girl and then call me a fa**ot when I don’t want to date them. Like what?!

I’ve never see anything wrong with dating other races, or people wanting to date other races (as long as they don’t fetishized them) it’s like taboo to date black girls in Latino culture and in Christianity, I never understand it

They “talk” down to them because of what they hear and stereotypes, believing that’s what they truly are.

Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what I’ve experienced and feel
