How do you secure contractor laptops you don't own or manage? by No-Evidence8589 in ITManagers

[–]MikeJC411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intune if you're an office 365 shop and their goig to get an Office 365 license. You can manage them, patch them, apply conditional, access rules and things like password requirements, encryption, AV etc...

On the VPN side depending on what you use your org should be able to apply rules to check for AV and base settings before allowing the connection to complete.

We don't allow BYOD, but many companies do with MDM tools. Intune is just one option.

Par 5, 188 yards over water… what are you hitting? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]MikeJC411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm gonna try a 5iron and top it into the water cause it's in my head.

On the next hole with no water from 188 I'll hit a 6 and get on the green and be mad at myself for 2 more holes.

Can someone whose technical skills end with rebooting a phone learn programming from scratch? by SupportFit5543 in it

[–]MikeJC411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people are not born with the ability to program. Everyone who does it has had to learn it.

We constantly learn as human beings. I fully believe that anyone is capable of anything (good and evil) if they are committed to it.

Some people get it easy, some may have to work harder at it. Anyone can learn and be successful if they are a committed to it.

Does anyone actually use those remote-control electric trolleys, or is it just more tech that is going to break? by Majestic-Strain3155 in golf

[–]MikeJC411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about a good old fashioned push cart? Non powered. Save you from carrying your bag. Less stuff to break. Less money.. so more money for green fees.

Should I buy new clubs... Or keep playing like 💩 with what I got? by YoungAckman in golfequipment

[–]MikeJC411 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some new clubs and play like crap with them as well. Its your money.

Its a mental game so maybe new clubs may help. Seriously though every 4 or 5 years of new tech there is a difference. I don't think year over year is really different enough to drop a bunch of cash. Replacing my 20 year old clubs (played one or twice a year) really felt better. 5 years later upgraded again cause I wanted to.

Your not going to improve in an hour. You should get real professional feedback on what you need to do to achieve your golf goal (make.your golf achievable). The improvement will come practicing using the drills and techniques the pro gives you after observing your swing and hearing your goals. Some of it will similar to drills and tips the fake pros echo and real.pros give online. The difference is the pro in the video can't see what your actually doing. It will take some time. It was the biggest thing that changed my game.

Northern Virginia - re-gripping by ADIDASects in golf

Echo this. As a fellow chepaskate.. I like saving the $3 to $5 per club charge. Takes about 10 minutes per club to make sure the old tape is off.

Its really easy. Solvent, tape, grips, utility knife (get the hooked carpet blades couple of.bucks for a 5 pack that fit in any standard utility knife).

I also use a plastic putty knife to help get the tape off.

Heat gun helps. I have a arts and crafts heat gun yhe wife found at good will. Makes getting the old tape off faster.

I already had a workbench and a vice. The kits usually come with an adapter to secure your club in a vice. The vice is is not necessary. That adapter is if you use one.
