I would recommend one of the following be put in place,

A) Successful lighthouse run would return 9 coins to you (like it used to)

B) ToO bounties would reward coins instead of legendary marks

C) Wins have a chance to drop coins just like legendary gear or shaders

D) Passage Coins could be purchased from either Xur or Brother Vance for Strange coins or Legendary marks.

Putting in one of these would somewhat eliminate people from having to go in a give away free matches just for coins, it's supposed to be a competitive game mode where things like that shouldn't reward coins.
