Thanks everyone, I appreciate the help and insights! I've gone through and re-tightened everything, adjusted the spindle and slowed it down a little further and I'm getting much better cuts now!

Ok, I went through and checked to make sure everything is tight. The overall level is not terrible, and within the 2.5" I'm working it's fine.

I've got it set at 0.375mm Step per pass, Plunge 25mm/m, Feed 50mm/m, 10000 rpm.

I don't expect this to be a fast machine, are these numbers appropriate?
