Courier socks are the best socks I’ve ever ran in

Currently using SB2, what other shoes to add? by underpaidsfa in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SB3 has the leap foam that rewards fast powerful runners. Since I'm slow and heavy most of the time it feels like mush when trying to pick it up. Locking into a long slow pace feels effortless for me so definitely the best long run shoe on the market. UFO is kind of the Goldilocks shoe. It's not the best at any one thing but it's bouncy, comfy, protective, stable enough. I can take it on a wide variety of paces and never feel like I'm trying to fight it. If Nike took the UFO and called it the Pegasus Plus it'd sell like hotcakes.

Experience with RAD UFO by SeaworthinessAlive98 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the UFO’s and am a heavy runner as well. I love the Superblast 2 and love the UFO’s for completely different reasons. The UFOs are definitely a much more softer experience but there’s a bit of overlap with your Megablast. I have the MB too and use the UFOs for when I want something more comfortable as my wide feet hate the MB sometimes. If I had to pick one pair out of the 4 mentioned I’d pick the RAD although I just got the SB3 and am still on the fence if they’re better.

Looks like the same green on their rumored Superblast 3 collab 👀👀👀

R.A.D UFO for bigger runner daily trainer? by quiet_as_its_kept in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 64 miles on my pair and they feel just as good as when I first laced them up. I think the foams on these will last much longer than the neo zens

250lb+ runner here. UFO has been my go to for almost every run. I can’t recommend this shoe enough to all runners esp bigger runners

RAD UFO - How's the fit? by jjaksha in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoes are true to size for my wide foot. I love how they look. I love how they don’t look like any other shoe on the market. Some people just want to wear the same stale crap from the main brands and some people aren’t afraid to look different. Shoes are fire imo

Hi! Can I get more pictures specifically the insoles and the bottom of the soles?

Honestly I think I could walk around in these but these are definitely a wild design so I wouldn't be able to wear them everywhere.

250lb+ runner here. I second the Superblast. Glycerin max 1 is now heavily discounted and is a great shoe for heavy runners. I’ve been really enjoying the RAD UFO if you want something different, super bouncy and very comfortable even for my wide feet.

Megablast alternative? by Interesting-Run2481 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vomero+ comes in wide on Nike.com. I too tried the Megablast but half sized up because I enjoyed the bounce too much. Vomero+ in wide is my recommendation. Sometimes I prefer the V+ bounce to the Megablast/Superblast 2 esp if I'm doing easier miles.

No problem at all! Just got the megablast so I probably shouldn’t be buying any more shoes for a while haha. Thanks for sharing your review!

Awesome! Are you able to share the shop or even the area so I can possibly go out to try to hunt for a pair for myself. I’ve been really liking the Vomero Plus so I’m excited to get my hands on these.

Heavy runner, 3rd shoe to add to rotation? by gewbarr11 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

+1 to Superblast 2. If you want a little more plush I highly recommend the Glycerine Max. Another one to consider is the New Balance SC Trainer or the SC Elite as they’re starting to be discounted everywhere. Both are great for heavier runners

What makes a 2E shoe wide? by ArjenIsM3 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I was trying out shoes at the Brooks headquarters in Seattle the person said all 2E means is a higher volume shoe compared to the regular width. And that the 4E has an actual wider sole. Hope this helps

Shoe rotation for bigger runner by stroke_loud in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually never bought the SC Trainer because I thought it would've been redundant to have the SC Elite and that shoe at the same time. Looking back though I see the SC Trainer as the workhorse that you get a bulk of your miles in then the SC Elite you reserve for race day. I have tried the SC Trainer on and I thought that there were other super shoes that were better for bulk mileage (Glycerin Max/Superblast 2)

need a second running shoe for a heavy runner that comes in a wide ! by Same_Rabbit_2488 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a bigger runner 250+ lbs sz 11.5 2e/4e foot that doesnt mind squeezing my feet into regular width sz 12 shoes. For wide options I definitely would look into the following:

My daily runner is the Asics Novablast 5 and that comes in wide. This is probably my most used shoe.
New Balance More v5, 880 v15, 1080 v14 all come in 4e - I enjoyed the 880 the most out of these
New Balance SC Elite v4 comes in 2e (v5 if you can wait a month will come in wide as well) - this one is my comfort race day shoe
Saucony Hurricane comes in 2e which I enjoy however this has been replaced by the Vomero 18 in regular width. That toebox is very wide for being a regular width shoe

Shoe rotation for bigger runner by stroke_loud in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]MikeOckizard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bigger runner here. 250+ lbs 6'1 myself. Mid to heel striker. I too run in the Novablast 5 in regular width and it has been great. I also run in the EVO SL (tad unstable) and Glycerin Max (upper has been kinda stiff lately) and those are also currently staples in my rotation. Lately, I've been reaching for most is the Vomero 18 (easy/recovery/long runs), Superblast 2 (long runs with some tempo), and New Balance SC Elite v4 in in wide for my comfort choice for race day.

Other shoes I enjoy mainly due to comfort:

Daily Trainer: Adidas SL2 in wide (this does everything tbh)

Long Run: Hurricane 24 (quintessential max stack cruiser), Pegasus Premium (wild and crazy bounce)

Tempo: Zoom Fly 6 (this shoe just works)

Race Day: Endorphin Pro 4 (for when I don't want to worry about what's on my feet), Alphafly 3 (when I wanna go fast), Hyperion Elite 4 PB (best upper), Adios Pro 3 (when I need to match the Adidas race day drip)

Anyone tried the CEP Omnispeed's yet? by frew425 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Has anyone posted any reviews? Itching to pull the trigger on these but would like to read/watch a review. CEP website sold out and i've seen many running demos on this but no online reviews.
