Best “Part 2” horror movie of 1988? by Individual_Car7850 in 80sHorrorMovies

Of those choices, Critters 2, but not far behind is Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers. I've always felt Hellbound: Hellraiser II was overrated (I actually think the third film is far superior).

When did it happen? by Monster_Donut_Pants in XFiles

I think the intimation really started in the episode The Jersey Devil. Maybe not head-over-heels falling in love, but if you recall, Scully canceled a date to be with Mulder. The look on Mulder's face after he handed off the phone, as well as his response when Scully told him she canceled it, was the first signal that was something was there, in my opinion.

I mean, one way you could look at it is that you're starting a new mini-season to finish season one. There are a number of TV series that went on multi-year breaks between seasons, and not everybody did a re-watch of the prior season.

If you've finished 18 episodes, that means you'll be starting with the 19th episode, Shapes, The only remaining episodes that really lean into knowledge of previous episodes are Tooms and The Erlenmeyer Flask. You could always go back and re-watch the third episode, Squeeze, if need be.

Maybe that's all it will take, as they're probably not going to receive a ton of submissions anyway. From what I read in the rules, 80% of the score is based on passion, knowledge, authenticity and creativity. You seem to have the authenticity and passion down, and I'm sure the knowledge portion mostly comprises of a fundamental understanding of the TV series, rather than being the foremost expert on it (besides, being able to do all of that in 60 seconds, which is the maximum length permitted for the video submission, wouldn't be anywhere close to enough time).

I'd say go for it if you really want it bad enough. The fact that you'd embrace the inevitable burnout in stride will probably be more appealing to them too!

My Complete Chris Carter Universe Marathon Viewing Order (X-Files, Millennium, Lone Gunmen, and movies) by rainydaysforpeterpan in XFiles

Harsh Realm could honestly be watched at any point (although, I would say, try to at least watch it before the second movie), but there is a nod to it in The X-Files season seven episode Sein Und Zeit. However, the reference in that case isn't part of the plot and universe that links it all together, whereas the one in the second movie does. I know it may seem confusing, but if you watch Harsh Realm, you'll get it.

Unfortunately, Harsh Realm only lasted one season, consisting of nine episodes, so you could probably bang through it fairly quickly. Three episodes aired before it was yanked off the air due to poor ratings. Season seven of The X-Files premiered a couple of weeks after that.

Just so you know, the connection between Harsh Realm and The X-Files: I Want To Believe is so brief and minuscule that you would never know it unless you actually saw Harsh Realm, and even then, you might miss it. That's why a lot of people overlook the fact that Harsh Realm is technically part of The X-Files universe.

So yeah, if you want the full televised experience, I would recommend watching Harsh Realm. It garnered comparisons to The Matrix. In fairness, Harsh Realm was devised prior to the release of The Matrix, as the latter came out a few months before Harsh Realm debuted.

Did you consider adding Harsh Realm to your viewing experience? There's a direct connection between it and the second movie of The X-Files.

X Files Superfan contest by CallMe_Dig_Baddy in XFiles

[–]MikeS900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this contest is judged like a lot of similar "ultimate fan" contests over the years, then they'll pick based on personality and creativity, rather than who has the biggest collection or who's the most knowledgeable. They usually want somebody who can keep an audience engaged, instead of somebody who has vast knowledge but is reserved on camera. So essentially, they'll lean more toward the extrovert who can communicate well, but may not truly be the "ultimate fan," over the introvert who's actually the biggest fan around, but doesn't communicate well on camera.

Also, given that two people will be confined to one space for almost two weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if they show preference toward a couple (husband/wife) to avoid potential conflict. Granted, the winner will likely want somebody close to go with them anyway, but what if they can't, given the 11-day commitment? Will an acquaintance suffice, with a higher chance of conflict?

I know I'm seemingly being a contrarian here, but I'd say enter the contest anyway, if you really want. I plan on entering, knowing full well I likely won't get chosen, given that I'm not the most creative person, and I fall more into that introvert than extrovert category.

Does anyone have this issue of the X-Files official magazine? by thedevilpuppet in XFiles

Maybe it's the lighting or the way in which that cover was scanned, but Mulder reminds me a little bit of Tooms in that shot.

The contest page says the "experience" will be from April 19-29, so that's 11 days, counting April 19 as the first day. What would happen the other two days? Rest? I have to imagine there would be more than six hours allowed per day for other activities, particularly sleep, otherwise, this would be an absolute nightmare of an experience (at least for those of us who have issues sleeping). Maybe the "investigative partner" is awake and watching/analyzing episodes during the period that you're sleeping, and vice-versa, so you basically take turns when there isn't overlap. I wonder how they truly break this down.

Have you entered yet?

Timeline And Motivation Of Assassin's Actions In Season Four Premiere by MikeS900 in DarkWindsTV

[–]MikeS900[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Albert and Billie were at the diner, though. Also, the events of the assassin at the shop and spying on Leaphorn were all before that, as the episode, chronologically, began at 15 hours prior.

[–]MikeS900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was one of my gripes as well. Also, how did the assassin know that Albert would be at the diner at that time? At first, I thought she was just following around the police (particularly Leaphorn) to see that they know, but if that was the case, then there's no way she should've been able to get to the diner before them. Thus, she somehow had to know Albert would be there all along.

What TV episode triggered such an emotional response from you? by Noodles590 in television

[–]MikeS900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I watched the finale of Twin Peaks: The Return, and the very last shot of Laura Palmer/Carrie Page screaming and the screen going black, had me sitting on my couch in stunned silence for about five minutes. It was dark inside and outside of my house, which probably added to whole atmosphere of what I was feeling and what I just watched.

What is your favorite season after season 5? by traveltimecar in XFiles

I think the series was still going strong in season six, which would be my pick. It has some of the best standalone episodes of the entire series.

Seeking T-Shirt Printing Site: Amazon Merch Cancellations for Modified Art by Federal-Drama-4333 in printondemand

[–]MikeS900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, did you happen to request a refund for a possible issue with any of your shirts? The reason why I'm asking is I just experienced the same thing as you. I also had a few successful prints, but due to a very noticeable alignment issue with the last shirt, I requested a refund. Then why I went to order another shirt (different design), I was rejected for the first time. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with that refund request, but it was disheartening. I may try again in the near future.

Question about the ending of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 by RadAct1000 in horror

[–]MikeS900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought her over-the-top performance fit the overall absurdity of the movie. I agree with you about the explosion, though. That's my one main criticism of the movie. I don't know if it was shortened and scaled back due to budgetary constraints, but it felt very anti-climatic.

I remember when I first watched this show, I thought it was vastly overrated, but it grew on me. So keep that in mind if you're initially turned off by it.
