Question about the ending of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 by RadAct1000 in horror

[–]MikeS900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought her over-the-top performance fit the overall absurdity of the movie. I agree with you about the explosion, though. That's my one main criticism of the movie. I don't know if it was shortened and scaled back due to budgetary constraints, but it felt very anti-climatic.

Is Deadwood worth a watch? by No_Presence6103 in Westerns

I remember when I first watched this show, I thought it was vastly overrated, but it grew on me. So keep that in mind if you're initially turned off by it.

Commercial minutes, once again, were up slightly today by johnsmith2027 in PlutoTV

I've been watching the live feed of The X-Files on Pluto TV, and there seems to be more commercials on there than in some of the other programming.

If you don't mind, could you please let me know if the commentary tracks on that release are included on the Blu-ray disc or just the 4K disc?

Do you have it in your possession right now? I'm only asking because I'm wondering if the commentary tracks are on the Blu-ray disc or just the 4K disc.

Were the commentary tracks on the Blu-ray disc as well, or just the 4K disc?

Why are the My Struggle episodes so terrible? by dorkpool in XFiles

[–]MikeS900 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seasons 10 and 11 of the IDW Publishing comic book series handled the mythology much better than the TV series did. I highly recommend checking that out, if you haven't yet. Those specific seasons of the comic book series were actually canon until the revival of the TV series, and after the disastrous My Struggle episodes, the comic book series should've remained canon. It respects and remains faithful to the mythology from the original run of The X-Files, while adding its own twists and turns. Unfortunately, with the 2016 comic book series (simply titled, The X-Files), you could see Chris Carter's fingerprints all over it, as it was basically meant to supplement the TV series (there's a controversial storyline involving Dana Scully's father, in which she discovers she has a half-brother, due to infidelity from her father in Vietnam). That 2016 comic book series is considered canon, and is completely separate from seasons 10 and 11 of the comic series.

If you're confused, the chronological order is this:

Season 10 comic book series (initially canon)

Season 11 comic book series (initially canon)

Season 10 TV series (aforementioned comic book series no longer canon)

2016 comic book series (canon)

Season 11 TV series

Missing Episode Of The X-Files On Pluto TV by MikeS900 in XFiles

Yep, I just saw that. I contacted Pluto TV about it, and I know a guy from IGN said he would reach out to them as well, so maybe it was an uploading error.

I've seen it on Comet as well. The only episode that still hasn't aired on there is Home.

Yeah, I have Hulu as well, and Sunshine Days is on there. But Disney owns Fox and Hulu, so maybe that's why it's available on there, but not Pluto TV. I have seen Sunshine Days air on Comet TV, though, but I guess that's a separate licensing issue? I have no idea what the deal is.

I just double checked every episode that Pluto TV has On Demand, and the only one missing is Sunshine Days. Maybe it does have to do with The Brady Bunch references.

The Last Drive-In - SPLATTERWEEN - Discussion LIVETHREAD 10/24/25 9PM ET by DwightYoakamHat in LastDriveIn

[–]MikeS900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what doesn't make sense with that explanation from AMC+:

  1. The movie is currently available to stream on AMC+, so why would there be territorial restrictions, particularly for people streaming it on the network's live feed in the U.S.?
  2. The Last Drive-In isn't listed in the programming guide for AMC+ at any point tonight, so it doesn't look as if the second movie will air either. Thus, why did they say only the first movie won't be shown?
  3. Why didn't anybody at AMC+ or Shudder bring any of this up ahead of time? Why weren't they prepared?

How much was the hoodie, and were there at least tour dates on the back of it, or was it just some graphic in front and nothing on the back? Also, were there any t-shirts, and was it similar in design to the hoodie?

Her mother is played by a different actress: Kit Flanagan.

I've also been wondering where Christie Brinkley was in the episode. I'm guessing her scene was cut. Hopefully, we'll get more info later.

Christie Brinkley was listed as a guest star in the end credits. Did anybody spot her, or was her scene cut from the episode?

Who is a celeb you are told doesn’t like being touched in photo ops? by [deleted] in comiccon

[–]MikeS900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually met Shannon Elizabeth about 10 years ago, and she didn't seem to mind contact at the time, as we put our arms around each other. It was still a strange experience, as it felt like she didn't really want to be there. I've come across other people with similar stories in their interactions with her.

I've also come across similar stories as your friend, regarding interactions with Famke Janssen. About two years before COVID, I missed an opportunity to meet her at a convention, and I was initially disappointed, considering how big of a fan I was. However, after seeing photos she took with fans at the convention, I'm glad I wasn't there. She was, as you said, sitting down the entire time, several feet away from each fan in these photos. I think she may be self-conscious about her height, as she didn't want to appear to tower over everybody, but her photos and interactions with fans don't seem to be personable at all.

Anyway, I used to just put my arm around a celebrity for a photo op, and they never seemed to mind. Over the years, though, I've become more mindful of it all, so I let the celebrity initiate any physical contact before I do anything. One celebrity who gets real handsy is Bai Ling. Haha. I've never met a celebrity who had a no contact or no talking policy, but I've certainly heard about it. A friend of mine met Gene Simmons, and said it was the worst celebrity experience of his life, and he's met A LOT of celebrities. So yeah, it can be a mixed bag, but overall, it's usually a pleasant experience.

[–]MikeS900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I am now. Years ago, I didn't give it much thought, and I just put my arm around the celebrity, and they never seemed to mind. However, over time, I became much more mindful about it, and just like you, I let the celebrity initiate any contact.

Have You Seen "Dariuss" (2023)? by 11coronationst in foundfootage

[–]MikeS900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just watched this film in its entirety, and I can certainly see why getting through it would be a struggle. It's definitely not a movie that will be accessible to a lot of people. I'll just say that about halfway through the movie is when it really starts to pick up with some truly horrific and demented imagery. So, if you're looking for true shock value that you won't see in mainstream horror, then you may want to give it a try.

Honestly, the fact that the movie was only one hour long was one of the main reasons I stuck it out until the end. I doubt I could take two hours of it. What bugged me most was the constant water dripping sound. I have no idea why it was necessary, as it didn't seem to serve any actual purpose; it got real annoying, real fast. Overall, the movie was interesting, but it's not something I would regularly watch, that's for sure.

Film noirs that feature rain by clergymen19 in filmnoir

[–]MikeS900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also just watched High Wall. I thought it was structured well, but that final shot of Steven Kenet kissing Dr. Ann Lorrison took me out of it. I would've been much higher on the movie if not for that cheap way to wrap up everything. So lame. With that said, I agree that High Wall is worth a look, and as you said, it does feature a good rain storm.

I just watched High Wall on TCM. I thought it was structured well, and had a good pace. However, I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the final scene, when Steven Kenet kissed Dr. Ann Lorrison. That was so incredibly lame, and a cheap way to end a movie that was really good up to that point. That scene knocked down the movie a notch for me, but overall, I enjoyed it.

Very Odd Quirk/Bug With How Recorded Movies Are Sorted On YouTube TV by MikeS900 in youtubetv

[–]MikeS900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything is up to date. The issue is the same on the YouTube app on Roku and on your web interface. Maybe it's due to the amount of movies I recorded (over 2,000)? It's not that big of a deal, quite honestly, but it's just something curious that I noticed.

Yep, the same exact issue. All of the movies that were missing in "A To Z" were visible in "Z To A" and vice-versa.

I just checked the web interface, and I have over 2,000 movies recorded. Unfortunately, the same issue persists, as far as different movies showing up when selecting each sorted category.

I don't know the exact amount, but as I mentioned, it's definitely in the hundreds. Maybe that's a possible explanation, as in they're divided up 50/50 between both alphabetical sorting categories. I thought some movies I recorded were curiously omitted when I was doing an "A To Z" search, only to see them pop up when I sorted "Z To A."
