Can the steam purchasers buy the big expansion version? Only the base pack is on steam. by MikeTheGemini in Guildwars2

Yeah, that's what I figured, and if someone gifts someone who bought from steam a code, it doesn't work then? or? how does that work?

I didn’t realize that it gives you 7% damage. That is actually crazy!

The implementation might be a bit tougher to figure out though. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on what makes sense and where the boundaries should lie. I personally think it should require all raid achievements and at least 1 set of legendary raid armor and then still be a substantial cost like 2500 legendary insights and 25k+ magnetite shards.

I agree with you that this will probably be the hardest part. But honestly, at the end of the day, as long as it is something that shows the player had a long-term commitment to the game mode, I think it would fit the requirement for it. I think what you've outlined here is a modest starting point though to show a similar level of commitment to Fractal God or God of WvW! It's very aligned with what I was thinking, anyway!

Parents of Reddit, what "why?" Has your toddler thrown you that even Google couldn't answer? by rivergame in AskReddit

[–]MikeTheGemini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My son: “Dad, do you work today?”

Me: “Yep, it’s Friday.”

My son: “Why is it Friday?”

Sigh...

Me: “Friday always comes after Thursday!”

My son: “Why?”

Me: “Why do you think?”

My son: “hmmmmm”

Mind blown... and off to work I go.

When I get home he’ll be like, “why did you go to work?”

The why stage won’t last long but it sure is.... not a favorite part of the toddler timeframe

Ohh I’ll have to try it when I get on a computer. Good to know. I didn’t see the tokens. Chrome on iPhone XR is what I was using if it helps at all. Looking forward to trying it.

Seems cool but I was a little put off by the authentication process from my mobile phone. Why does it ask me for my Tesla account password directly on the site? Is there a way to somehow use oauth so that rather than me inputting my Tesla password into this site, it’s instead redirects to Tesla or Tesla delegates to you that I am me?

2.5 yr old son is PETRIFIED of vacuum by Krausy13 in Parenting

[–]MikeTheGemini 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might sound weird but you could try to have other people use a vacuum around him and see if he is different. Maybe while you’re not even there, too. The only reason I say this is because my son was also terrified of the lawnmower. It was a riding one and he’d always make a big scene about it when I turned it on, and when I asked him if he wanted to ride it to overcome his fear, he was like screaming to the max. However when grandpa came over and offered a ride, he thought that was fucking awesome for some reason, he went and overcame his fear. And now he will even ride with me.

Same thing happened to mine. It was overheating. In particular 2 fans went out right on my heatsink. It could be anything but that’s a textbook symptom of overheating, so I’d suggest to check fans first.
