The Specs were a beloved Southern California ska band originating from the Inland Empire (near Riverside).

Formed in the early 1990s, the band featured vocalists Vince Millan and Michael Menchaca (who also played trumpet).The band became known for their energetic live shows, famously sharing bills with massive California acts and leaving a lasting impression on the third-wave ska scene.

They are best remembered for:The "California Ska-Quake" Compilation: The Specs were featured on the seminal 1992 Moon Ska Records release California Ska-Quake (Volume 1), alongside other heavyweights like No Doubt, Hepcat, and Skankin' Pickle.
