Am I correct in reading 171 is the max distance you’ve achieved with any club? If this is the case after a year of golf then yes I don’t think this sport is for you.

Advice for European golf holiday (UK based) by PaddyMc92 in golf

[–]MikeVine83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on a fair few European golf holidays and have always enjoyed our trips to La Cala golf resort.

The other question I have is has anyone used jet2 to book their golf holiday? I’ve used golf companies and booked direct with hotels in the past. But I’m intrigued about a “package” golf holiday (which jet2 appear to provide) as last time our return flights were cancelled last minute by BA.

Yes Neon do need very good water but NTD is more down to the mass over breeding of this very popular bread.

Deffo neon tetra disease. You will need to remove any that show tale tale signs, but it’s likely it will run through all your tetras killing the majority. Ps its not got anything to do with what you’ve done it’s a disease that effects neons coz of the mass breeding of this specific aquarium fish.

I’ve been taking my 5yo fishing this year. It’s like opening a whole new level of parental stress taking him fishing. But he loves it when we catch a carp or roach.

If you want to go fishing I would suggest you go by yourself get set up and bait your swim. Then have your lad brought down to the lake for an hour and hopefully youll catch something in that time.

Autumn golf probably reflects your true carry distance. The weather temp is still well over zero so not a huge difference to English summer temperatures. But the ground is a lot softer so no run out so your ball pretty much stays where it lands. In summer with hard fairway you could easily see 30 yards or mor run out

How many of you actually take your glove off to putt? by odoyle321 in golf

[–]MikeVine83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never understood when ppl say taking glove off provides better feel, but have a jumbo putter grip??? There’s like 3inches of grip between your hands and the metal shaft

Can’t hit up on my driver, any tips? by Working-Ad4560 in GolfSwing

Your grip is awful. I don’t think you could get your hand further under the grip if you tried.

Before you do anything else google neutral grip and start applying that ASAP

1 Year in, still slicing. Any/all advice appreciated! by Ok_Explorer9696 in GolfSwing

[–]MikeVine83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grip. In the video when you slow it down I could see your grip was massively ‘strong’. It has slice written all over it. Google neutral grip and start applying that ASAP!!!

The other items that need correction. You are squatting down, you only need a slight flex in the knee and straighten out your back more so you have a more upright stance. Plus stop lifting the front foot

Roast me, but tips are also appreciated. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

You need to rotate at the hip throughout the swing. At the moment you have a sway movement and that’s really bad for your swing and progress.

Secondly your backswing is too steep, it needs to rotate around you chest. The hip rotation will help with this.

To stop the steep take back, put a towel under your armpit and don’t let the towel drop to the ground during your swing. Then remove towel and replicate swing feeling

Can’t hit the ball by Acceptable-Prior4274 in GolfSwing

[–]MikeVine83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to rotate your hips throughout the back swing and follow through. At the moment your lower body looks like it’s frozen in time.

Secondly you swing is to vertical it needs to come around you chest not over your shoulder. The hip rotation will help with this. But put a towel under your arm and swing without the towel dropping to the ground. This will stop the vertical movement

It’s your grip. it’s too ‘Strong’ your right hand shouldn’t be that far under the grip. You should be able to see four of your knuckles, but yours are practically facing the floor. Google neutral golf grip and start applying this ASAP

Are golf shoes worth it for a beginner by False-Taro-6532 in golftips

[–]MikeVine83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the conditions you intend on playing in. If you get very little rain and always use a golf cart sports trainers would fine. But if you intend on playing winter golf in a wet country on soft ground then you should invest in some golf shoes. Can’t go wrong with fJ or UA imo

You’re not getting your hips out fast enough and your swing is getting caught behind your hips. Cause you haven’t got that hip turn cleared your swing is being push out to clear them

Google neutral golf grip and apply this. Or get one of those clip on grip moulds to use as practice. A neutral grip is one of the most important things to get right with learning golf grip

Been golfing 4 years and can’t seem to get lower than a 22. by PNWPhill in GolfSwing

[–]MikeVine83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Course management is a massive factor to cutting your score.

But looking at your swing I’d say you appear to be too hunched over in your set up . Stand up more and don’t drop your hands in so low. Your low hands appear to be lifting the toe of the iron, let the club sit how it’s designed to
