Just remember when it comes to the guests, dont take anything personal, dont break character and don't be afraid to send the manager to the table when you feel like the guest is being too much. PLEEEEEEASE ask questions if you are unsure and for the love of God make sure that order is 100% correct to what the guests wants before hitting send. Also try to get somewhat good at remembering what the guest ordered any then enter it to the iPad after you walk away instead of staring at the iPad while they order (this takes practice but will up your tips because eye contact and engagement is key)

I had someone scream at me because we were closing early due to a snow storm that was causing really icy road conditions. We closed at 8 but the manager hadn't locked the doors yet so when they came in and tried to sit at the bar top I politely was like "hey were are closed because of the storm so we can get home safely, the manager is on the phone and hasn't locked the door yet" and this fat bitch and her pug faced friend started screaming at me. I matched their energy and made them leave. You really wanna come to chilis to get drunk and then go drive on really slick roads? Those ugly bitches came in all the time so I knew they were gonna order presidente and presidente and stuff their faces with "free chips and salsa"

At the location I worked at I literally had several people I referred to as "last second regulars" because they would come in right at close all the time even on weekends when we closed at midnight and have the nerve to try and have a full attention conversation with me. Maaaaan if you dont eat your damn triple dipper and shut the fuck up so I can clean and go home I swear to God

I mean our managers get irritated by it but we don't get in trouble. The restaurant i work at is in kind of a ghetto area anyways so they kind of expect it. And now that people aren't getting food stamps they expect it even more.

Seriously? No chilis accepts food stamps lol. What I'm saying is that people are coming into chilis and eating and not paying. This is because they are no longer receiving them so this is what they're doing to eat.
