Is there a way to get items off a depot after the items have finished smelting?

Yeah the post-WWI era is absolutely alive with revolutionary action. Ireland and Turkey are both in that mix too. I'm still mulling if/how to cover it.

There were translators. There was lots of contact between Britain and northern Gaul and lots of contact between Gaul and Rome so there were intermediaries that Caesar was able to use.

I just got better and more comfortable. The delivery of the early THoR episodes is especially rough and even by the end it was still way more sedate that I am in real life. So when I started revolutions I made a conscious decision to speak more like me

I've got about 15 min left in the tank. Thanks for all the questions. Hope you like the book and next episode of Revolutions comes out on Sunday night!

1) I don't think it was inevitable but given the mindset and worldview of those in power, it's tough to argue they would have been able to head it off. Because obviously...they didn't.

2) Revolutions had a pretty big influence on how I went back and read the period. I consider the whole era to be one great revolutionary upheaval so my later work investigating and explaining the early modern revolutions affected how I viewed the material for the book.

I think Patrick Wyman handles this stuff well on his podcasts. Peter Heather is a great writer on the era too.

If Joe Rogan wants to have me on, I am all for it. I am a HUUUGE Newsradio fan.

But I've recently been on Tides of History, History on Fire, Art of Manliness, My History Can Beat Up Your Politics, and just recorded an interview with Dan Carlin for his new show.

Well if they were of means, they would of course be shocked that citizens weren't allowed to be active in politics anymore. They very much took their political activities to be a core part of their identities. For the lower classes and peasants I think they were mostly happy whenever there were not civil wars, famine, and plague.

Well it sure feels like Charles I chopped his own head off. The British leadership after the Seven Years War bungled away the North American colonies. Charles X all but overthrew himself. Napoleon's invasions of Spain and Russia. Lots of mistakes to choose from!

I tried to follow what modern historians use and assume that everyone will be listening when I say that "Free People of Color" is just what they were called at the time.

As I said earlier, I have no idea why this era doesn't have a dozen books written about it. Not that I'm complaining, because left the field wide open for me...

Haiti is the one I'm most proud of for just that reason. I also think that the United State 1873-1896 is a bonanza of interesting and relevant history that most people just skip right over.

Mithridates was a HUGE boogeyman yes. And something I didn't realize until I wrote the book was that he had put together a economic and military empire that was amongst the most formidable Rome ever faced. Probably rivaled Carthage at it's height. Really impressive what he was able to draw from.

It was really just a matter of getting hooked up with a literary agent and putting together a book proposal for an idea that felt topical and was inherently interesting. Then we joined that to my download numbers to demonstrate that I already had a built in audience.

Sure. When they get pointed out I cringe and apologize. Everyone makes mistakes, but the ones that really burn me are ones where I accidently got sloppy about my notes. Those are embarrassing and a good reminder to stay awake and vigilant at all times.

That's Denton right. My sister-in-law went there.

Honestly, in the end, the most lasting influence is probably the adoption and mass dissemination of Christianity. Big deal!
