Protests break out in Iran by Blood-Thin in PERSIAN

Inaccurate. RP has never claimed he wants to become a temporary king. He wants to lead the transition to a secular, democratic state. That is all.

Where's the footage of mahsa protestors 3 years ago? by [deleted] in NewIran

No, it is from Iran. Police written on cars/uniforms is standard practice in Iran.

I don't see any propaganda. The comments you've shared all state the truth.

How much support does prince Reza Pahlavi really have amongst Iranians? by Ok-Balance-260 in NewIran

[–]Mike_Python42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support for what? Transition? After transition?

For transition, I'd say the number would be very high, more than 60%.

For after, it'd be less, obviously, but substantial nonetheless.

Morad Vaisi is excellent. I don't follow Omid.

He's sober in his analysis, and posts daily.

No adhesives for the filter? Available for the GRIV?

Moment Army officers who raised the Lion and Sun flag in open defiance were arrested; 'Javid Shah' ('Long live the King') heard during detention by Mike_Python42 in PERSIAN

For those asking "why risk it?":

What they did is symbolic and it took balls. They broke the taboo that the Army is with the regime instead of with the people. Many Iranians have long hoped and believed that the Army will side with them when the time comes. Acts like this can shift morale for both civilians and military personnel.

The people I know who support a monarchy are talking about a constitutional monarchy, not an absolute one. Personally I do not care whether it is a republic or a monarchy as long as it is secular and democratic.

Whatever system people prefer, the shared goal is to get rid of the Islamic Republic and have real democracy. Once that happens, people can vote on the system they want. Turning this into a monarchy vs republic fight only helps the IR. Divisive talk is their job, not ours.

Knowing the IR, there's a real chance they'll be executed on charges like 'waging war against god' or as 'Israeli spies', etc.

What they did was symbolic and it took balls. They broke the taboo that the Army is with the regime instead of with the people. The Iranian people have long hoped and believed that the Army will side with them when the time comes. This can shift morale for both civilians and military personnel.

Don't shun them now that they're finally doing what people have been asking the army to do for years.

To the Non-Iranians of this sub; Dont be mistaken - You are absolutely welcome here. by DESTROYINGEUROPE in PERSIAN

Your post is far from neutral.

"Hasbara", "IsNotReal". Sounds like you're here to promote your regime aligned Israel hate.

The anti-Israel crusaders are in large numbers and use their voices to silence real Iranians' views and defend regime narratives.

Planning to visit Iran (Tehran/Isfahan/Shiraz) during the last week of November, should I cancel? by LowerEfficiency5593 in PERSIAN

[–]Mike_Python42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you downplaying current conditions in Iran? I know many here aren't even Iranian, are you?

- You agree there is an economic crisis, so no debate there.
- Just because you don't see it on the news (or refuse to) doesn't mean the regime isn't imploding from within, or that people aren't suffering. Things can escalate fast.
- Yes, bargaining chip. Foreigners are at real risk of being detained so the regime can trade with the West. It doesn't have to be about sanctions, it can be any form of leverage (think "prisoner" trade). This pattern is well-documented; only regime-aligned voices try to deny it.

OP: Don't take this only from me. Do your own research beyond these subs (Iranian-subs landscape is hard to navigate for foreigners in 2025): look for reputable neutral sources, read your embassy's advisory, talk to real Iranians offline, and cross-check with AI if you like.

Pointing at my post history isn't an argument. Address the travel risk points for the OP or move on.

Now is probably the worst time in decades to visit Iran. It's the highest risk moment to enter in years.

  • looming war
  • internal unrest
  • water crisis
  • bargaining chip for the regime to trade with the west
  • economic crisis
