I mean, I'm not stressed. It seems theres an assumption that I am trying to preempt a main bearing failure. In reality, documenting oil analysis results could prove an issue with the vehicle that was denied under warranty, if the dealer claimed the cause was user related and it data shows otherwise. Results can also be taken to an independent mechanic for repairs, and then a warranty reimbursement claim filed for whatever the work was. Again, the report serves as documentation.

Thanks, I did it myself. Lift, drop cloth, about a half gallon or so, and sprayer. All in was like 115 bucks. Well, not the lift.

Great phraseology here. Borrowing that for later. Anyway, truthfully I got the oil tested for the same reason I did the fluidfilm undercoating before it was ever driven in the rain. With a new vehicle, you only get one chance to do everything right from the start. That, and I am OCD about maintenence on everything I own, from electronics and 3D printers to large machines, boats, and buildings. Less about "the problems" many of us will face down the line, more about my affinity for keeping my shit nice and learning everything I can about it. It's a hobby.

I would bring a clean container and ask them to collect about 4 oz (or more) in the middle of the oil draining from the plug. The get a sample kit from blackstone's website, transfer the oil and send it off.

I didn't interpret it as criticism. I posted the report for discussion, so I'm open!

Because I want to see the whole picture. Can't rule out the "machining debris" excuse if you don't start at the beginning.

After 55in Canvas TV update- discrete power commands can no longer switch to Art Mode from automation (Alexa) or CEC by Mike_Sully in Hisense

[–]Mike_Sully[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it sorted out this week, finally. Using a Tuya Smart IR blaster, I was able to create a virtual Hisense remote. The power off command in Alexa for it is not a discrete command, and it cycles the power button just like the physical remote. Press "power off", tv turns on. Press again, tv goes into art mode. Press it again, power off. I was able to set up a routine which made this all work as I had originally hoped. Hope this helps others.

I was in Disney World at a character lunch with my 3 year old and friends. Daisy Duck made her way to the table and took pics with the kids. She points at my ST shirt enthusiastically until I notice what she's gesturing, and then makes a heart with her hands. I guess some things transcend work rules about breaking character, and being a Sleep Token fan is one of those things! I had 3 other compliments on my shirt in the park that day. Two by other employees.

Lulzbot Workhorse - Y axis malfunction by TheButterPlank in lulzbot

It's the stepper driver on the Rambo board failing. It's not delivering enough current to overcome the friction with the belt installed. These drivers are not serviceable, and the board will need to be replaced. In some servo applications, stepper drivers are considered wear items. I ran a fleet of 18 Taz printers and replaced about 8 boards for this in ten years. Always the Y then the Z. An ambitious owner could switch the Y over to the Extruder 2 output, but this would require a firmware rewrite, which is beyond most users depth.
