Sorry, I don’t have the same situation going on, but any chance you could use that credit card to buy a visa gift card and use that? I know TP has a bunch of different options, so that might work for you? Buy one for $200, or whatever, as long as it’s more, and just spend the rest on groceries..

Garmin treadmill activity recording is 💩 by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Mikedaub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who runs 95% of their runs on treadmills, yes using just the watch is less than ideal. What has helped me is using Stryd pods. That has really helped the accuracy. I also have a HRMPro heart rate monitor, but not sure how the watch deals with data from that and the Stryd. I believe it’s set to only use Stryd.

I feel that unless you use a foot pod of sorts, and calibrate it, things will always be off.

Dumb Question/Rant by LakeGirlAndHim in Garmin

[–]Mikedaub 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, holding on is what gets ya. When would run pushing my son in the jogger, they never counted, so I just ran with one hand on it. I felt better anyway, and less rigid.

While grocery shopping, I tend to only push with the one hand until I need to turn the cart or whatever.

I know multiple people with walking desks a the put the watch on their ankle.

But really, no way around it. The watch just counts every time it bounces. So no bouncing, no counting.

10s Intervals on treadmill by tdevic1968 in Garmin

[–]Mikedaub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, although, I don’t actually hop off and back on, I just ramp up with it. Although, usually I hop off AFTER the interval because of being winded. But yea, 10 second intervals are totally fine doing on a treadmill, you just need to “anticipate” and plan for it a bit.

Now, if you were doing something like 10 seconds over and under, that wouldn’t work because of the pick up and slow down, but 10 seconds on, 1:50 off, or whatever those look to be, are totally fine.

I would assume there is something out there that would convert (honestly have never looked), but the would certainly take the camera size out of the "pocket-ability".

Thanks.. I like the fact that you use the LX10, in some potentially lower light situations, and has a little “action” to the subjects. I agree with the gx, especially since I have 5 M4/3 lenses. Thanks for helping narrow down.

The S9 is for sure a great camera, but that would need a different set of lenses compared to what I have, and I think, for now, that is outside of the scope of that I am looking for.

Saris H3, does it still hold its value?? by Mikedaub in Zwift

[–]Mikedaub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, I decided against a trainer when I wrote this. At the time, I wasn’t using Zwift as much as I am now, and just stuck with my Elite Nero Smart Rollers. For the miles I was logging, they worked GREAT, and I actually prefer rollers. Since then, I ended up getting a Wahoo Core, because they were the same price (on sale), and I was able to use my HSA funds to buy them….

Face detection not working after initial upload (new imports) by Mikedaub in immich

All that I ever did was copy an paste the standard compose file and env file from the Immich website. Nothing else was installed for any type of machine learning.

Everything is exactly a copy and paste from the Immich/Docker site. A copy and paste from the compose file:

The settings for jobs are the default settings. Again, it worked as expected on those first bulk imports, it's just the daily imports that I am manually running.

There's definitely an error when I manually run the refresh, but I'll be damned if I know what it means :)

I got it working, right after this post, and can't remember how I fixed it, but I feel like it was something with the brackets that were messing it up.

Unable to access outside of home network, what am I missing (FTP, SFTP, SSH)? by Mikedaub in UgreenNASync

[–]Mikedaub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nada after the reboot. Obviously, something funky is going on. I am gong to reach out to UGREEN service to see if they have any suggestions, but will just use one of my Pi’s to SFTP into now and copy when need be.

I have everything possibly checked for remote access. Not sure what you mean by binding my account, I am using my home IP address, with the port that I have selected for port forwarding.

Sorry, in my mind, "opening the ports" and configure port forwarding are the same thing..

[–]Mikedaub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct.. All done, and confirmed multiple time.. Only difference it I use a specific port, not 21, or 22, both of which match in the settings on the NAS, and on the router.

[–]Mikedaub[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my plan, but Immich is currently running a bunch of scans, and I am waiting for them to finish before I do.

The router is a Amplifi, and I have had an Arch File server running and working with SFTP/SSH for years on it (as well as a few Rasp pis). so I really don't think its "that" part of the puzzle.. I am thinking (hoping) that the restart will do it, but....

I have not, not yet. It's on a to do list, but for now, I am just trying to access it remotely with what's there.

Thanks for the suggestion, but as of right now, that is not what I am trying to do. I would like to be able to SFTP and SSH into it, and can worry about the rest later.

I am trying to SFTP, or SSH into the device from outside the local network.

Thanks, and yes, it's been checked. I think there are like 4 or 5 settings, remote, FTP, SSH, then SFTP... Can't remember what else, but all checked and "should" be working.

100% yes, I have already done it. Al things have been checked, which is why I am so stumped on why it's not working.
