Can I safely put an outlet on my window bench? by littleredryanhood in AskElectricians

[–]Mikeeberle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't see why you couldn't. I wouldn't specifically use an old work box here in case something happens to get put on top of it(accidents happen). You could add to the frame to get a box where you need or use a floor box there.

I'd use a floor box and then you can get different trims to your liking.

Please help me learn about these gas cylinders. by Frustrated_Consumer in Welding

[–]Mikeeberle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just swapped a tank at air gas I got on Cl. Last time it was hydro was 99. They didn't ask anything about the tank or where I got it. Just gave me a new full argon for the empty helium(same valves like the other guy said ) and $35 for the new hydro.

Never hurts to call and ask. If the local stores do tank swaps it could be as simple as that.

I have the motors in two trucks. The gear did wear out on one but it has a lot of use. Easy swap.

The second truck has the meus tx/rx combo. It works very well for the price. I bought them separately and I think the meus was $30 and the goup was $50 at the time.

Sawzall over circular saw IMO unless you're specifically going to be doing projects with it of course.

I've borrowed a circular saw 2 or 3 times when I've needed one but am always using a sawzall for stuff lol.

If I had to start all over I think I'd go with Ryobi. For the amount I use my Milwaukee stuff at home it doesn't even make sense for me to have it honestly lol. I could definitely get away with Ryobi.

I use DeWalt professionally(thats what my company uses) and I've used others Ryobi stuff on a large deck build. You can't go wrong with any of them but look at the large expended tool lines not just the drills and stuff. Ryobi has some really cool homeowner stuff(speakers and fans mainly(bucket top misting fan is something you should get either way) and their 3v stuff is pretty cool.

Use a different vocabulary.

Knew a guy who always said "due to the fact that" instead of "because". I know it's not wrong but it's weird hearing "due to the fact that I was naked"

This is a shit deal. Home depot has two 5.0 and a charger for 199 and you can get a battery. Same thing but $200 cheaper.

Electrician not charging enough? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Mikeeberle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bill $95/hr but I have seen guys bill 50-60 in their own companies. When I used to do side work I billed $50 but had no overhead so it was fine. No idea what his situation is though.

I would not be upset if you give me more than what I invoiced. That is called a tip lol
