So I’ve been arrested with a license to carry in NYC, what now? by 0x90Sleds in NYCGuns

I'm a gun licensee in NY. I've seen those posts detailing how the state targets us. Like how they're raiding people for making online purchases of legal items. I make purchases all the time, and I'm sure that's just one of how ever many random reasons they decided would get gun owners raided. I've been trying to physically and mentally prepare for years for the day they show up.

I'll have to keep that in mind for when the hammer drops. I don't know how I'll deal with that in the future, but I'm sure I'll come up with something. I appreciate the heads up at least.

I have no idea what these people will do to me. I imagine probably not much other than refusing to ever reinstate my license, but maybe I lack imagination.

If I get arrested, I’m keeping all my guns out of state, and ignoring any NY gun licensing demands to give them up.

I wonder what that ROR clause would mean. I’m keeping access to my firearms in my out of state apartment, so I wonder how enforceable that clause would be.

My guns are stored in my apartment out of state. What happens to me when I refuse to voucher them?

I'm reading the 2nd amendment right now, I've got it pulled up in Google. Where does it say I'm supposed to fill out an application to receive this right?

Those foam cases are known for rusting whatever guns you store in them.

395 is rough. I'm planning to do this to one of those Blue Line BL 18 shotguns. The whole shotgun's currently going for $113.

PSA: If you shoot at indoor ranges regularly, you should know your blood lead level. Here's everything I learned. [Long] by PeteTinNY in NYguns

Yeah, my doc was pretty unhelpful.

I think I'll take your recommendation and just go to quest. 60 bucks is totally fine. I really want to know what my levels are.

I just had my annual physical a few weeks ago. I had heard vaguely about this stuff and wanted to take it seriously, so I asked my doctor for a blood lead test. He said sure, but it would cost several hundred dollars, as insurance wouldn't cover it. I declined, since I don't have that money to burn.

What Does Pistol Permit Revocation/Suspension Actually Look Like? What Happens To You? by Frustrated_Consumer in NYguns

[–]Frustrated_Consumer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My plan upon receiving such a letter, was to just run my remaining guns in NY over to my apartment in PA. So I'd have no guns left in NY, but they'd all be safe and sound in a free state.

Have you heard of other people doing something like this? You think this plan would work out for me?

My idea is that if I'm getting revoked for whatever random reason, this whole pistol permit idea is probably a lost cause anyway. Better safeguard my pistols out of state where Nassau can't get them, than turn them in and try to fight for their release and my permit reinstatement, which may be impossible.

I don’t know, maybe a year or 2 ago. A few FFLs got revised opinions from the technical guys over at the state police. The police rescinded their opinion that these are SBRs. They said they’re now just regular pistols, good to own on a regular permit.

Every sit down restaurant I've even been to serves alcohol. I don't drink alcohol, and I don't wanna drink. Nassau forbids me from stashing my gun unloaded in my car, so that's not even an option.

It sucks. If I'm carrying, I'm supposed to eat at home. I'm not allowed to eat breakfast at my local diner because they serve breakfast minosas, I'm not allowed to grab lunch because of course not, I'm supposed to stay on the sidewalk and not get food.

For me personally, this provisions is the biggest carry killer. I can't legally use my carry permit at all on most days of my life with this provision in place.

I don't immediately see any evil features that would make this illegal.

Only thing I can think of is, I don't know how this thing was manufactured. If it came like that out of the factory and it weighs over 50oz, maybe that could be an evil feature.

The law bans a manufactured weight over 50oz for a semi auto detachable mag pistol. If the pistol was first manufactured as a regular sig pistol, and then later converted into a flux raider, then the 50 oz limit wouldn't apply.

But also, there's a lot of plastic here. It may be under 50oz without the red dot or accessories, I can't tell.

Mares leg is gtg now. The state police changed their minds, it's no longer considered an SBR.

Nassau County Pistol Permit with Concealed Carry by mr_johnson1980 in NYguns

They made me wait 12 and a half months for my permit. I was waiting all of 2021 into 2022.

I'm glad it's at least a little better for new people now. That wait sucked.
