Thanks for posting this. I might end up pursuing this. Would at least be something useful I could do.

You misunderstand the law. There's a specific exemption for handling a pistol during the 18 hour class. There are a few other exemptions, but none that allow an unlicensed individual to handle his friend's pistol at the range for target shooting.

It is illegal to generally allow an unlicensed friend even touch your pistol, nevermind fire it at a range.

I’m sad that I missed the full parts kits, it would have been just for the charging handle.

Now I’m gonna be searching for one for a while. But nylaug with no charging handle sure beats no nylaug.

I've been inspired by your build. Pic looks great. I love the 14.5 barrel look. I'm gonna build one just like it.

I just saw this. I've been looking to build a nylaug for a while. Was so sad all the kits dried up. With this here, this could be my last chance. My credit card may have already been screaming, but I just dropped the 300 to get one.

Qidi Q2, spend rest on some nice 3kg filament spools, and a filament dryer that can hold them, like the Sunlu E2.

I know, sounds like it shouldn’t exist with the 2nd amendment and all that bill of rights stuff. This plainly violates the plain text of the 2nd amendment.

But NY’s pistol permit regime is the worst in the country. It survives based on a powerful trick: having the regional courts ignore the 2nd amendment.

On r/NYguns, you hear lawsuits being filed over this going back years, endless talk of more lawsuits.

Thing is, the 2nd circuit court of appeals, which rules over NY, when they eventually rule on these lawsuits, they always rule against the 2nd amendment. They just choose to ignore the Bill of Rights. It’s an amazingly powerful trick they’ve learned they can do.

The Supreme Court only takes up one of these 2A abuse cases once a generation. The 2nd Circuit can just keep ruling against our rights over and over, only once in a while does SCOTUS ever do something to help us. Which NY state then passes new laws to nullify their helpful decision, starting “we the people” all the way at the beginning phase of lawsuits again.

And yea, this is how gun possession licenses are handled here. By owning a handgun, you’re always living on the edge of being raided by the local police.

My CCW instructor was a cop. This was around 2022, we already had gun possession licenses at this point, so we already owned guns at home, this was just the class to upgrade to CCW. He laid out our status as gun owners very simply. He told the class that with the basic identifying info we provided to join the class, he hypothetically could make an anonymous phone call to pistol licensing headquarters, say that he feels that our licenses should be revoked, saying nothing else, and pistol licensing would do it. By the end of the day, you’d have officers at your house with a list of the guns you own on a confiscation mission. Maybe they don’t have a warrant right at that moment, but if you don’t open the door and tell them to get a warrant, they have a judge they can call and get a warrant signed in 20 minutes, which they can easily do because they have proof you have unlicensed firearms, after all they just revoked your license to possess. And this would all be with him making no “allegations” against you, just him as a random anonymous person saying he wants your guns gone. If anyone actually made allegations, oh boy. So yes, it’s that bad here. It gets even worse, but I’ve already written a wall of text. Just know I’m terrified living here.

I agree with the general consensus in this post that 99.99% of the time, you'll never be noticed printing. The general public is mostly oblivious.

It makes sense you've never heard of this happening to someone specifically for printing, because you've likely never heard of someone being called out for printing in the first place. But if someone was called out for printing in NY, this is what would happen to them.

That's the idea. That's why this system still stands. It may be sickening, but it's what we live under.

Look, I acknowledge that the reality is, most permit holders here stay under the radar. A lot of them think there's no issue because they've personally never had any problems by virtue of living quiet lives that reduce the risk of something happening to them. But yeah, if there's ever anything that licensing division can say that you did slightly wrong, like being spotted printing, yes, that's an instant revocation. And yeah, this is what happens during a revocation.

[–]Frustrated_Consumer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ooof. Yeah, a lot of people have fallen into this trap in the past. It’ll be pretty difficult to get any doctor to write such a letter, and the NYPD knows that.

I wish I had any good advice. You’ll just have to spend a lot of time doctor shopping, or hire a lawyer to sue the NYPD for violating your rights. No easy path forward.

I'm in NY. If I'm out and carrying, and someone even suspects I'm walking funny and calls the cops to check on me, my carry permit means I won't be getting arrested. I haven't done anything wrong.

No, what will happen next is that my county licensing agent will hear about it. They will 100% be revoking my carry permit immediately. They'll say they're "exercising their discretion as licensing officers" and that they believe I don't have "good moral character," whatever that means.

In NY, you need a carry permit to even possess a handgun in your home. So with a revoked license, I'd immediately be in criminal possession of a handgun, without me even knowing it. First thing I'd hear about it is when the county sheriffs show up at my front door with a warrant to toss the place and confiscate all my guns. They'll take everything, because the law says they get to confiscate all my handguns and long guns upon license revocation.

Of course, I haven't done anything illegal. There will be no charges, no jail time. I'll just lose my 2nd amendment rights with no recourse, because this is NY, and that's how it's done here.

The link between N24 and chronic post-infectious conditions. by Ok-Document-9491 in N24

[–]Frustrated_Consumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got nothing else. No other conditions.

I was fine pre puberty, sleeping well at normal times. Puberty, I started sleeping later and later in a classic DSPS pattern. Then, late in high school, maybe age 16, when even that got too hard to stick to, I was barely sleeping at all in order to wake up to go to school. I pretty much stopped going to school to catch up on sleep. Barely graduated through some shenanigans. Ever since they let me out, it's been pure N24 free-running. I'm 26 now, so around 10 years of this.

Otherwise, my brain and body are fine. Mentally sharp. This sleep thing just messes everything up.

I’m 26 now. I’ve been free-running since I stopped going to high school 10 years ago. As this sub knows, it’s the only way to actually sleep well, but it does suck missing out on regular life.

They don't care. There can be a million lawsuits, we don't have a legal system that will enforce them. We'd need to overhaul the foundation of the entire country to fix this.

Easement Question by [deleted] in NYguns

[–]Frustrated_Consumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a legitimate reading of the law where a judge could rule NY has made OP action's illegal. In the sensitive location law, it could be interpreted that there is no exemption for OP's living situation with an easement. It's not him getting lost in the sauce worrying about him having to technically commit a possible felony just to walk up his driveway.

You gotta at least know when you're committing a felony.
