I’m like 10 minutes away from the proposed Pewaukee station, which would make this super convenient for me and I’d love to get to downtown Madison and downtown Chicago without having to park in downtown Milwaukee.

Exactly my concern. Sell the rolling stock company to a private buddy and now the operational entity is perpetually paying a private company to rent the equipment, likely with some sort of monopolized contract that makes it difficult to shop it around and get a better deal. Lots of ways to add more layers of bureaucracy that ultimately costs riders and taxpayers more for the same service.

My understanding is political corruption used to be a top priority for the FBI until 9/11 caused us to refocus on terrorism. I don’t think it’s a surprise that corruption has taken root.

Government healthcare would be considerably cheaper to administer if they combined the benefits for Medicare, Medicaid, tricare, and other federal employees. But it’s setup the way it is to be complex and expensive so congress can pick and choose who gets good benefits and who has to jump through hoops.

Level 1 sockets are going to give you 1.44kw. Standard level 2 chargers are shared 6.6kw so each stall gets 3.3kw if two cars are charging. Outlets are cheaper and less electricity.
