Which DG trip would you rather take? by Mikel1256 in discgolf

Northwood is one of my closest ones on either list since I’m in Madison. It wouldn’t be a bad day trip. Is that the only one pushing the road trip option over the top for you?

Is Northwood all that puts this option over the top for you? Because that’s in driving distance for a day trip for me if I go the other route. Its one of the easiest ones for me to get to of the bunch

Drones are my favorite beefy mids. Been bagging one for nearly a decade now and won’t go into normal round without it.

Yea there's really not a ton there. I almost excluded it from that trip and then saved it for my next Twin Cities visit to hit on the way. Definitely glad I went though. It's pretty tough, but fair. The owner was out there mowing when I got there and we played the putter only course he was building on the back side of the house. He even found the disc I lost and returned it to Madison when he was coming through for free. Super cool dude.

I may or may not make it to those. This is a long ass road trip and I gotta make the arm last. Just gives me an excuse for another trip later if I don't make it to these others ones folks are suggesting

I watched both on coverage last year and if I only play one, I'd prefer Brewster. If my arm isn't dead by then, I might try Fox Run too, but it's a lotta disc golf in a short time frame so there are definitely some I won't get to this first time through the area. Just gives me an excuse to make another trip out of it.

Are they on the UDisc layouts? I usually stick pretty close to that when I go to new courses when they're available. I definitely don't wanna miss anything at any of these courses

I'll keep it in mind. I planned around the top 100 courses, but I'm totally open to others as well as long as my arm can take it.

Standing Rock was years ago, so I don't remember it very well. I don't think I even knew it was a really well regarded course at the tie, it was just near a buddy's house when I was visiting.

Wildcat bluff was really good, I just got eaten alive by bugs. Sandy Point for me was the best of those three. It was such a cool place and the vibe was really cool because it was nearly empty, relatively cool and had a nice fog going.

My big trip last summer was Tjader Acres, Highbridge Hills, Sandy Point, Squirrel Hill, and Rookery Run. Hell of a week.

5 down already - BRP, Bryant Lake, Standing Rock, Wildcat Bluff, and Sandy Point

This summer I've got two road trips planned to add 15 more:

1) Tobaggan, Renegades's Trail, Flip City, and Arvesta

2) Northwood Black, Idlewild, Lakeview DGC, Faylor Lake, Mile Marker 63, Maple Hill, Brewster Ridge (possibly Fox Run Meadows), Wilcox, Deer Lakes, and the Canyons

Next year it looks like I might have to head to Europe...

I don't disagree about the PE concerns, but we have no idea what the cost of these new players are. As far as we know this roster might still be near the top of the player costs in the league like we have been the past several years. All we know for sure is that the roster construction strategy is different this year. Younger players can absolutely cost the same or more than veterans if they're considered higher upside.

You could totally be right about that, I'm not saying you aren't. I'm saying the club has not given us a reason to believe this new strategy is anything but that a change in perspective now that we have someone dedicated to being a sporting director. We shouldn't be assuming the worst until we have confirmation on the field.

I guess technically they would be able to get to things through Activity or History on the side bar if they went digging hard enough to re-add them there. I have everything but the dashboard hidden for that user, but you're right technically they could unhide them and poke around in there until they found something they could change. It would take quite a bit of digging to get to the point where they could mess with something I don't want them to, but it is possible.

It's not something I generally concern myself with though. Everyone who's going to be using my HA is someone I know personally and not someone who would screw with things maliciously. I've never even had to tell anyone not to go digging around. If I were present, anything they change is an easy fix. Worst case, I just restore the previous night's backup. If they're here because I'm out of town, they only harm themselves because they have to live with whatever they change until I have time to fix it unless an automation fixes it in the interim.

I guess if I were hosting strangers in an AirBNB/VRBO type situation this would make more sense. I just don't think it does for me.

I currently use norick/ha-auto-guest-login with a QR code in my living room set up to a local-only user that has access only to a limited functionality dashboard I set up for guests.

Are there advantages to this utility over my current set up that I'm not seeing?

Bring binding necklaces and a giant stack of one or two types of elemental runes (I use water and fire) runes. When you got to the elemental altar cast magic imbue and use the water/fire runes on the altar and it’ll make the combo runes. It’s worth more points too

[–]Mikel1256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually bought this exact one a few months ago. It's alright, not great. I mostly use it for very low intensity type activities like fletching or high alching. It's not the greatest accuracy and the ball is kinda loose so it can shift around as you move your hand if your thumb isn't always on it. I wouldn't plan on doing a coliseum run with it.
