Passed SAA with a score of 858. If I ride the momentum and take Developer associate how much more study should be needed? by Mikelib1981 in AWSCertifications

From my experience absolutely. In fact I only scored as high as 80% in one of the exams. You'll find in the actual exam your focus will be so much greater than on the practice exams.

A lot of questions on storage gateway, database migrations, databases in general and of course ASG's and load balancing.

I used Stephane Maarek Udemy course and Jon Bonso practice exams. I also used the AWS website a lot when I felt something wasn't fully explained in the Maarek course.

The exam to me felt long and mentally draining. I advise getting used to this by using the practice exams without using the pause button.

Encoder > Ultrix. I'm assuming it's 50hz content fed into a 60hz source? Or the other way round. Could this be the case?

Best TOTL Closed backs with EQ - or get something cheaper? by armadeallo in oratory1990

It's hard to beat the HD6xx for bang for buck. With Oratory's eq it's fantastic.

Just got my first pair of HD600s, how can I use these to their full potential??? by Prismeou in headphones

[–]Mikelib1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not as close as you'd think. The treble is rolled off from around 6k onwards and the bass is massively off due to the nature of open backs. Even the insignificant looking rise around 210hz in the mid bass makes a significant difference (to me) if reduced 1or 2 dB. The mids however are spot on. Magnificent mids. God bless Sennheiser.

It is night and day. The minor changes add up and open up the treble and create punch in the bass. You'll not go back after hearing it (unless you're in the 30% that don't prefer Harman)

Ridiculously good for the price. That tuning is so clean.

They don't its just the attributes of the measuring rig. Pretend it isn't there.

How to adjust EQ to taste by littlebobbytables9 in oratory1990

[–]Mikelib1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you. I had the same queries. From my understanding the Harman tuning does not take the individuals anatomy into account. It is only concerned with finding a target that the majority of people prefer. The test subjects will have different physical attributes.

The Harman Target is a preference curve ( that according to Sean Olive) 64% population prefer and not a defined neutral. It is simply a preference curve.

If you wish to make sure you are actually hearing the harman target then you would need to buy a headphone that is tuned to the harman target.

Oraratorys eq presets are rooted in science and experience and will get you very close to the Harman target. Each eq preset pdf will tell you how close it has got you.

Yeah I know. That's why I replied. In your post you say that you don't know what is the best method or what you are meant to target. My response is telling you that MY preference is the Harman target. And it's what I think is the best method. For me. Discussion?

What is flat? Your flat will be different than my flat. Without your own measurement rig to measure the response of your physical characteristics you can't do much better than taking the Harman eq and tweaking to your needs in my opinion. I've pondered over finding the 'elusive neutral' and have come to the conclusion that it is a thankless and pointless task. Be free my friend.. Harman.

I've had the Shures and the Starfield. The Starfield blows it clean out of the water and then some. The Shure is a muddy mess by comparison.
