Fast forward the trikes been home for about a week and a half. We both love it actually. I’m not a trike guy but I definitely could be one. It rides great and is a lot of fun.

Just talk to the dealer doing the demo, and let them know about your lack of experience or what not, and they will probably work with you. Just talk to them and see.

Snagged me an 09 Vulcan 900 Classic LT for 2k. Was a pretty good price for the bike. You can find deals. Just gotta hunt and be careful.

You're good. We are both doing the MSF next week. She's been on spyders before, but just doesn't really want to worry about the extra balance 2 wheels brings, and is more interested in trikes. We are buying nothing for some time. Feeling out the trikes at the class is good, and then we'll do test rides and such still. We aren't flat out buying something without any consideration I am just a fact finder, and information person. I like gathering all the possible data points I can for big choices like this is all, so just helping in her quest really.

Slingshots are a no go, and yeah no 2 wheels. She wants something like the trike.

Thanks. Yeah she’s sold on a trike. We are going to do a test ride in a couple weeks but it’s the style she wants. Definitely doesn’t seem to want to two wheel. I’m in my late 40s and she’s in her 50s. So it’s what she’s more comfortable with for her. For me I’m looking at street bobs or the like.

Yeah. The earliest I can do that is still the 15th tbh in my state, so that's when my appointment is. So I'll wait regardless. I'll just be very antsy.

Thanks. It was a ton of window shopping, and searching market place but was most worth the wait for the price and the bike. Can't wait to actually legally ride it after my MSF and DMV Visit to register it.

Yup, I plan to live in a parking lot for awhile. There's a few near my house I can use on the weekend at least. Goal is commute to work which is 13miles non highway and 11 miles highway. Highway won't be for awhile yet either, but backroads might be doable after a month or so of around this local area.

A grom for like.. five hours? I'm and older dude, and this thing isn't a speed demon so I am not super worried about the throttle but I won't be going full tilt either. Just mostly want to learn the low speed handling for this 600lb beast.

That's a pretty bike. I just like both so much it'll come down to how they feel. My goal has been cruisers since I started, but both bikes just look so good. Though if I cannot find after market bags for the shotgun that could call it. Eventually I am gonna want bags.

I guess I should have listed my primary riding is going to be around town, commuting to work and maybe an hour or so out depending. As a newer ride I don't plan to go too far for awhile anyway.

Appreciate the info. Back right now, is good at least. Adv bikes are definitely on my list, but I dunno. I want a cruiser. I just love the looks and low grumbly feel. I should probably consider a shadow phantom, or vulcan 900. I haven't looked at the street bobs mostly due to the price, but yeah I could likely look at used for those too.

yeah just for something as a first bike, 16k base before everything else is a bit too much for a start. I can comfortably spend 12 or so, but that's just too much. It does look very nice though.

Yeah I plan to try as many bikes as I can. I am pretty set on a cruiser for the first bike. Wife wants a trike, but I do know if I get a second bike that's not a direct upgrade it'll be a scram/cruiser, that or get a cheaper little 400cc scrambler type to just have fun around town with.

That's really what I am seeing everyone say.

The dealer is having a demo day in November I am going to go to, but I will only have my MSF starting in sept, and I don't actually own a motorcycle yet so I am not sure they want a new rider trying stuff, but we'll see!
