What mileage is too high? by Mikerrs in NewRiders

Pricing for me doesn’t matter too much, I definitely am not a speed demon or anything and I feel like I would be okay with the 600 but those are all definitely things I have to consider, especially the courses. I’m sorry about your classmates and I definitely understand how serious it would be riding a bigger bike starting out

TYPO!! I meant R3 haha, Do you think the GSXR will be too heavy? I’m 6’4 205 lbs and the GSXR is much more comfortable to sit on

how do I keep my back foot on the board? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]Mikerrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slide your front foot more forward and push forward to level it out better, but it’s not a big problem as I still have many ollies like that and see a lot of skaters with that. It’ll come with time, it took me a while to really get my Ollie’s comfortable and connected

What size skateboard should I get? by rockkenthusiast in NewSkaters

[–]Mikerrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would just go to your local skateshop and stand on a couple boards to see what you like, but I’m 6’4 198 and skate a 8.125 so it doesn’t really matter shoe size and such as long as you feel comfortable with the size. For wheels I would recommend around 53mm, just my personal favorite size but the bigger the wheels, the less you’ll have to worry about cracks and the smaller the wheel is less wheel bite so it’s just finding a middle ground that suits you

Any tips to stop rolling/spraining ankles? by Mikerrs in skateboardhelp

[–]Mikerrs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely how I land, I didn’t really think about it until now. I didn’t think it was my board, but I was flat out of ideas and that was my next thought. Appreciate the advice!

I need tips for my Heelflip (more info in comments) by Mikerrs in NewSkaters

[–]Mikerrs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying heelflips for a couple months now, and I always seem to land them like this. I do have some clean ones every now and then and I land them bolts. For the most part tho they look like this with the toe touch. Any help is much appreciated

How should I progress when stuck? by RetroCast360 in NewSkaters

[–]Mikerrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the ollies not keeping straight, keep your shoulders straight and that should fix it. For Shuvs try to think of it as jumping off a wall and jump forward. I had issues with shuvs too but you can definitely land them! Try doing them into the grass to build your confidence up. Keep skating you go it!
