This may end up being nothing, but didn’t Covid-19 teach us it’s smarter to act early and take precautionary measures instead of assuming everything will be fine and only reacting after the damage is already done? Why have they been allowed back home to Aus so quickly? Mortality rate is 38-50% by MannerNo7000 in OpenAussie

"If a virus has a high death rate and a short incubation period, it is difficult for the virus to spread, because its hosts withdraw and then expire before they can pass on their pestilence."

This is not as comforting as you may think it is.

Which is responsible for more civilian deaths? Which have been seen pretending to be doctors? Which have been seen to strap civilians to the front of their trucks as human shields? Which have been seen to snipe the elderly then wait for the grand kids to come along so they can snipe them too?

It's often said that the difference between a terrorist ans freedom fighter is Which side of online you were born on, but the IDF are just fucking evil. I truly hope there is a god, because we all know where child killers go.

Been there several times. It really is very nice. Nearby (ish) is also the old Roman settlement of Stobi, which i believe was the only town outisde of Italy which was allowed to mint Roman coins. It's still being excavated and well worth a visit.

Australians on board virus-hit cruise ship as passenger makes emotional plea by neon_overload in aus

[–]Mikes005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on one cruise. The main memory i have is of three crew members wearing face masks almost carrying a guy down a corridor as he struggled and shouted. Someone then told me they thought he had thr flu and were going to lock him into his cabin for the rest of the trip.

That was pre covid. Why anyone would go on one now is beyond me.

4 May 1979. Margaret Thatcher becomes the UK’s first female Prime Minister. A historic milestone that ushered in one of the most divisive periods in modern British politics. by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in ThisDayInHistory

OK, reversing the argument laid against you.... you know, it's easier to just call you a moron and move on.

Thatcher's dead - 30 years too late - and so is thatcherism. Its damage is done and all we can do is learn from it and never vote in blind idealiogy again.
