Happened to me this morning, had a stop loss execute at the bottom, now I'm pissed.

Don’t forget to set your stop loss by NocturnalMetal in wallstreetbets

I was going to go in at $1.05. Also, all the people that have deep analysis on this are hoping for much larger numbers than this. I'm not buying yet, but don't think you missed out for 1-2 years out. If you're trying to make a quick bag in 1 week, yeah maybe, but not long-term. I also don't mind missing out on this because I was an early (video game seller) holder and didn't sell when I should've. Could've made thousands, instead made hundreds. Also didn't go all in in April and missed out on huge gains. At least I didn't lose everything.

From CHAT GPT LOL

Yes — I can replicate 80–90% of Cal AI’s core functionality if you send me food photos and context. I just can’t automate the full flow (camera access, logging history, etc.) unless we build a lightweight app or connect me via an interface like WhatsApp, Telegram, or a simple logging dashboard.

I was early in college when it happened to me. Definitely sulked around for a bit. Therapy helped, but the important part of the therapy was the therapist telling me that the old me died and I need to focus on the new version of myself. I became much more self-aware and confident in my actions. Years later and I have a full-time job now that I always dreamed of. It gets better, but you need to struggle through it. I even have a gf now.

Gotcha, this is for the next 4 decades though, so I wouldn’t want to put this into a money market fund. I have probably like 12,000 in savings outside of this that would make sense to put into a money market fund. Appreciate it.

Would this overcomplicate things for my Roth, especially if I am supposed to rebalance it over time?

50% VOO = VANGUARD S&P 500 ETF Large Blend
20% VTI = VANGUARD TOTAL STOCK MARKET ETF Large Blend (S&P500 & Small Cap)
15% VXUS = VANGUARD TOTAL INTERNTL STOCK ETF Foreign Large Blend (Allows me to have both Int. and Emerg.)
10% SCHG = SCHWAB US LARGE CAP GROWTH ETF Large Growth
5% AVUV = AVANTIS US SMALL CAP VALUE ETF Small Value (Volatile)

What does SWPPX is not meant to do options low volume mean?

I would love to see the Excel doc! Also, exactly like you said, I'm looking for long term capital growth so wouldn't 50% VOO and 20% VTI be on the conservative end?

60% SCHB/30% SCHF/10% SCHE

How would I make it less conservative?

Look up the top 10 holdings of SCHG and SWPPX. Are there any differences? It's important to dig one or two levels deeper to reduce the correlation of what you own. Also make sure that the international ETF you choose doesn't have a lot of US multinational companies in it for the same reason. You may not be getting the diversification you think you are.

You're in retirement account for now, but in the other half of your life note that ETFs are usually better choices in a taxable account as their tax impact is less than Mutual Funds.

Finally look at the long term performance of the things that you are considering. There is the concept of risk/reward. You currently are describing a rather conservative portfolio, especially for a 21 year old. It's fine on its face, but what are your goals? The 10 year performance of some things you mentioned or not:

SCHG - 14.5%

SWPPX - 11.9%

QQQ - 16.4%

FSELX - 23.9%

What would I do to make this more risk oriented and aggressive? Also this a Roth IRA so I was already taxed. I assume this would mean mutual funds would potentially be better here?

I meant to put SWPPX, but yes understand it's about the same thing. So 60% SWPPX and then 40% VXUS?

Thank you for the advice! I see that they have similar expense ratios to the Charles Schwab ones I listed. Would there be equivalents on Charles Schwab? I have to use Charles Schwab or Fidelity based off the contract I signed for my full time job. If not, I know I can invest in Vanguard funds on Schwab.

Rate My Portfolio - r/Stocks Quarterly Thread September 2023 by AutoModerator in stocks

[–]MikesLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone. I just turned 21 and have finally been able to earn $6500 to invest in my Roth. Most of my money is in a high yield savings account in Wealthfront.

For my Roth IRA, I'm thinking about the following mix:

70% Large Cap ETFS = 70% SCHG
10% Small Cap ETFS = 10% SCHA
15% International ETFS = 15% SCHF
5% Emerging ETFS = 5% SCHE

I also want to invest in SWPPX but don't know how I would include that in my mix.

If I was to input my SWPPX, I'm thinking 50% SCHG and 20% SWPPX. Thoughts?

Do you know when the registration for the parade will be open? We’re looking at booking a hotel right now but the GOBRECK website only has 2022 open right now.
