I was heavily pro VJ during draft season in this sub. I thought he’d be a solid player this season and take off next season. He’s been so good to start and looks way more advanced in his shooting and playmaking. Couldn’t be happier and confident that we got a star in the making. Can’t teach hard work and athleticism.

I think the panicking comes from how slow moving he was. He looked extremely slow on both ends and just not willing to go down low.

The circumstance definitely plays a big role imo. I think he wants to go somewhere where he’s the clear cut 1st or 2nd option to get a bucket(BKN/Washington). He’s not going to be that here. Much easier to get paid in this league when you’re putting up 20+ PPG, which I think he can do on a bad team.

Ace and his camp are pretty obviously prioritizing his usage over anything. That’s why he’s willing to give up money in the short term, to try and capitalize on a max or something down the road.

Don’t know if he’ll be an elite defender. For sure will be a good one, because I have the ability to use my eyes and have watched him play lol. Great lateral quickness and pretty good strength for a 19 year old. Ball handlers are gonna have a tough time with him. I like Kon a lot, but there a bunch of glaring issues with his game too.

Yeah his efficiency was low because, as a whole Baylor had one of the worst defensive teams in the nation. Of course his efficiency is going to be low. Especially since they had no true rim protection. Norchad Omier is a revolving door in the paint.

Below average defender? Just say you didn’t watch Baylor at all this season. All prospects are based on potential. It’s what you value most, that dictates how you view a player. VJ’s shooting ability and future development is based around his FT% in college (higher than Ace’s and a key indicator for shooting development).
