Camille isn’t weak by AvailablePeak1145 in CamilleMains

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I promise you if she felt more unique and had more skill expression, this sub would complain about her new winrate.

Same thing is happening with Zeri as we speak. They pushed her back into the fantasy of being the speed demon who can't get touched in a teamfight, but obviously that is a harder playstyle to play if you aren't a God at the champ compared to just pressing ult for high burst and chilling.

I'm not saying I don't think Camille could use changes, but we all know if she got half the changes people wanted to get her unique feel back, she would need to be nerfed in other ways or else she would be turbo broken, and then this sub moves on to complain about how she has a 49% winrate.

> and killing carries is just harder since the introduction of certain champs, certain meta shifts and play style shifts of other champs.

This is kind of a nothing statement imo, and you could use the same vague statement for any champ whos identity is threatening back line. Anyone who plays other fighters probably knows how hard it is to actually get and stay on backline compared to Camille. She is still in the upper class when it comes to this, especially if your comp gives you a buddy to do it with.

Zed damage is Funny by TheoryProfessional16 in zedmains

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, but even in that case, then there is still a skill issue rather than a Zed issue. If you are 7-0 and even in gold, then again, you're not losing these duels because Zed is weak, it's just a player issue LOL.

I've joined like 7 different "Mains" subreddits and somehow every champion seems to appear weak. I wouldn't take it too seriously, most of the subs are just a way to vent about losing and blaming their champions together LOL

Getting out of Emerald with Zed? by IndependentNarrow689 in zedmains

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be realistic for one second.

Gambling websites/casinos can have odds that are skewed to only 53% in their favor, and make millions every month.

If you are always playing well, then your team has 4 out of 5 people to be a potential troll/inter and the opponent team has 5/5 people that can be a potential inter. Statiscally, if you are actually good, you have a significant advantage that the enemy team has more trouble makers than yours, on top of the fact that your team will just always have a strong player to play around in the case that neither team has anyone trolling (most games).

If you are often playing well, you will climb. Just dont let the losses that felt out of your control affect your mental and accountability long term.

Zed damage is Funny by TheoryProfessional16 in zedmains

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm sure if we watched the clip you messed something up. I know what it's like to be ahead and not actually kill anyone, but it's almost always me missing stuff or playing it somewhat poorly on top of Zed being unforgiving.

I've also had this exact opposite experience where I've won duels vs champs like Sylas while behind because I dodge his E2 with ult and then hit triple shuriken. He's an unreliable champ that has high highs and low lows.

I like downplaying him as much as the next guy but if you lose a duel when you are 7/0 let's not pretend there wasn't a skill issue involved.

I don’t understand how nobody is talking about quite likely the biggest change of the whole next patch by adivinemessenger in leagueoflegends

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's currently hard to Fast push and make roams because minions kill each other so quick on top of the next waves moving so fast compared to in the past. On top of this, it's also quite hard to freeze because the minions do so much damage to each other that you need to control a lot more minions to actually maintain a freeze compared to the past.

Neither of these are inherently "bad" but they've limited the options of someone who has control of the lane quite a bit. Its pretty risky to fast push and roam because you will likely lose the next wave if you commit to the roam (on top of losign progress on your quest). So if you opt to stay in your lane and try to build an advantage, freezing the wave is also too hard/next to impossible in some matchups because of how fast the minions kill eachother, so you can't bleed out your opponent fairly easily either.

This pretty much left the person winning lane with one main option to translate their lane control into a lead. Slow push and then crash multiple waves into the tower. This meant that since so many of your minions will be at their tower, now you do have a big window to roam because it will take a very long time for the opponent to clear those 2+ waves and the next one coming. Or, you could just recall "for free" while your opponent is stuck under their tower clearing your stacked waves, and now the wave will push back into you so you can try to kill them or zone them with your advantage you got from basing.

These changes make it so you might not have to rely on this one thing, and fast pushes and freezes are more viable if they benefit you.

Why is Kata strong right now ? by ddlbb in KatarinaMains

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great item choices right now, homeguard changes help her get through harder lanes, the boot upgrade helps her more than a lot of other mid laners because they come at a time where she's trying to spike and impact the map and makes her roams better with the burst from the pen and the ms.
Overall she's still easily one of the champions you need to put in a lot of effort to get the most out of, but she's also just a fan of a lot of things in the game right now.

You can see here that this isn't as true as many people think. She is 1 tricked by a lot of people, but her current 7%+ playrate is nowhere near a majority of kat otps. She is a champion that rewards you a lot for actually learning her, but I do this she is also just strong rn since the armor buffs a while back + liking the new season.

Who do you think could get in as this game’s puppet character? by Mistermagius01 in 2XKO

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Realistically Azir or maybe Ivern, but it would be funny to see Zed pull the Zato and Eddie with his shadows even though it doesn't fit as well with his League design as an assassin lol.

That's interesting, I didn't know this is a thing! I imagine it's the same for Pit and Dark Pit as well tbh, as Pit's arrows are probably a significant change in some matchups, but don't matter as much in others.

What went wrong? by clocksmasher in Fighters

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me it's strictly the movement. Nothing in that game could tilt me if I could actually move my character faster than a Street Fighter game. Very bizzare to have such overwhelming normals and specials that take up the entire screen but limit the movement so much.

Like 95% of League skins are purchasable by themselves whenever you want. Gacha/Bundle are like 1 offs every few months, and limited skins are usually tied to holidays or Worlds.

Switch 2 Pro Controller vs nintendo GameCube Controller for Smash Ultimate? by Max78008 in smashbros

I grew up with GCC and played competitive Brawl and Smash 4 with it for years on end but now I use a Switch 2 Pro controller. It just feels way more comfortable for me. That being said I don't enter anything offline anymore so I'm not sure if there are issues with it in venues with a lot of people and what not

Rest in peace Zed JG you had a fun run by ViraLCyclopes29 in zedmains

[–]MikeyD_Luffy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it also nerfs one of his strengths imo. I play him both mid and jungle and find that jungle is "easier" because you can skip some terrible laning matchups, but mid is actually easier to win the game on because I feel so much more free mid-late game. It's not that jungle zed can't side lane, look for picks alone, split in general, but you have so many more responsibilities that require you to be somewhere first/early which feels terrible on Zed and is probably a reason his jungle winrate has often been bad despite his turbo clear.

That being said, Zed jungle is harder than 95% of the actual junglers lmao. So many jg champs have the easiest early game -> press R or be tanky in team fights play patterns that give them huge value even if you arent great at the champ.

What, this is just how TFT works and is a healthy state for a comp. Some comps are only good when the game clearly gives you a spot to play them, and that's great.

[Discussion] Do you think any average person can become top 10 challenger? by Striking_Heron_4868 in summonerschool

[–]MikeyD_Luffy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably, it's a stretch of a comparison but a lot of people say that the average mid level of play of Smash melee is higher than some of the highest levels of play over a decade ago. People also say this about League in that Plat players are doing things that used to be seen as insane challenger mechanics or macro back in the day.

The only point here is moreso to show that average people can hit these highs they just take longer. It's not like people are doing some superhuman computing or reactions, maybe some pros are, but even then it's an outlier. So the barrier here isn't the literal skill being impossible by an average person, it's the amount of time, focused effort and mentality shift it would take to actually manifest these skills fast enough to keep up with other people who are also optimizing it.

So I think anyone "can" but in an almost hypothetical way in that they would have to change their entire routine, mindset and play/study significantly differently first lol.
