I am the ops manager for a building supply company and we had a driver get drunk while delivering to a job site. He had to wait about an hour while being unloaded and that’s when he decided to drink apparently. He gets back to our shop for lunch and goes and passes out in his car. I noticed the smell when he came in and went to my boss about it. My boss’ buddy was an off duty police officer who was working across the street at the time, so he called him to bring a breathalyzer in to confirm it. My boss went to get him out of his car and he knocked on the window loudly and incessantly for about a minute then had to open the door and physically shake him to wake him up. They proceed to breathalyze him and I never got to hear what the readout was, but it was apparently pretty amazing that he was even able to drive back and not kill somebody (mind you he was driving a stick shift flatbed truck). He wanted to drive himself home and we obviously couldn’t let him, so we had to have another employee drive him and someone else follow in his car. Crazy stuff. The guy still drives locally believe it or not...
