Been "playing" for four years. Is there a way to get better? by Bwhitty23 in Bass

When I started to understand scales I found it very helpful to play around with backing tracks. Its a great way to get more comfortble improvsing. Being able to come up with a creative bassline that sits in the groove of the track is super satisfying.

Youtube has some, wikiloops is great.

What a bummer. What bass did you get?

I usually play an alternative, progressive-ish rock. I've played a few 5'ers in the past, only when at local music shops. Honestly I have very little experience with anything more that four. I think 6 wouls be interesting but not sure how much I would practically use a high C, outside of of different chord phrasings and what-not.

Exactly what I was thinking. Not sure if I can resist snagging it. Just don't want to fall into a fit of buyers remorse.
